I'm speculating at the moment. Kelly is the same type of player as Pendlebury and Taylor (190cm+ medium/tall rebounding defender), a type we have a glut of on the senior list and would now have on the VFL list as well if Pendlebury and Taylor both stay. As such, if Kelly is indeed signed, I suspect one of Pendlebury or Taylor are on the move...

List of Players that has Signed and Re-Signed

Ash Close, Nick Gray, Callum Matheson, Ben Moloney, Ryan Pendlebury, Michael Still, Jeremy Taylor, Lachlan Wallace and Rupert Wills have all signed on for another season after helping propel the team to its first finals victory since 2009.

Well, it's been a big evening in VFL Magpies footy!

Collingwood, being Collingwood of course, just so happened to drop this news on the evening that I was blissfully unplugged and away from the Internet. Hmm, perhaps these crazy suspicions that the club has me under surveillance might not be so crazy after all...
