Jedinak, the quiet achiever who spoke with deeds not words

"He wasn't the most fashionable, nor was he the fanciest. But he got the absolute best out of himself by being fit, tactically aware, adaptable, combative and possessed of a great mentality and a willingness to do the dirty jobs sometimes required in midfield.

He's had a decorated career, but more than that, he's had a dignified career.

There has never been a whiff of scandal around Jedinak. His Socceroos teammates saw him as a protective figure, a man who would have their interests at heart and around whom they could unite and follow - a sort of comfort blanket under whom they could take shelter if needed.
...

He may not have been the best player to have pulled on the Socceroos armband, but he was a tower of strength and a man who led by example and from the front, and empowered his teammates to believe in themselves. He will be missed - and fondly remembered."
