For those who don't know I get to most games and at times have provided goal comments on bigfooty. So, MagpieBat's efforts don't slip away, I'll most likely move those thoughts across here (or post on both sites). I may not get to all games though.

Broomhead returns - https://twitter.com/CollingwoodFC/statu ... 1114415106Fellow AFL-listers Ben Reid and Nathan Murphy are also expected to take their place in Collingwood’s side, as they recover from quad and calf injuries respectively.
Alex Woodward is set to captain the Pies for the first time in a competitive fixture. He will do so solo, as his co-captain Jack Hellier will miss with a knee injury he sustained in the pre-season. Hellier isn’t expected to feature during the first month of the year.
Sier likely to miss (rib) - https://twitter.com/CollingwoodFC/statu ... 1338222592
MY THOUGHTS:
It will certainly be a very different Coburg team this year with 23 list changes (https://coburgfc.com.au/player-movement/) none less significant than their captain and ruck brute Tom Goodwin who defects to Port Melb. Sadly for the lions they'll again be towards the bottom of the ladder, however they always seem to provide a good physical contest in past games against us.
For the 'pies I'm yet to see our full squad (I suspect it will be out tonight or tomorrow), however our confirmed departures are Kye Beveridge (St Bedes Mentone Tigers), Gus Borthwick, Marty Hore (Melbourne AFL), Tom Jok (Essendon AFL), Stephen Tahana (Sandringham), Nick Sing (Williamstown). Borthwick and Hore have been mainstays in the side in recent years and their loss will be felt, while Jok played well enough to get himself drafted.
If the Geelong practice match is any guide our VFL players look to be younger across the ground, which means at times we may miss the experienced bodies especially down back where we were already light on. It's a big if, but IF our AFL side can stay fit this will no doubt help offset this. Speaking of AFL injuries it's terrific to see that Broomhead is making his comeback this week with Reid and Murphy also set to play. Adams' return to the seniors should also see one drop back.
