Collingwood vs Geelong

Sunday 8 August at 1.15pm
Venue ETU Stadium (North Port Oval)

Looking forward to the team sheet and if crowds are allowed. The time will clash a little with the AFL game against the Hawks, which starts at 2:10.

Not expecting any crowds to be allowed.
Spoke to a friend involved in the VAFA this morning and they are not anticipating any crowds for games at their level until at least the following weekend. Assume VFL/VFLW will be the same.

Game being advertised as available via Kayp Freebies.

Qualifying final - Collingwood 4.2-26 def. Geelong 2.8-20
Semi final - Collingwood 2.6-18 def. Essendon 1.5-11

Geelong 2nd after H&A - 10 wins 4 losses 40 points 174.31%

Qualifying final - Geelong lost to Collingwood
Semi final - Geelong 6.4-40 def. Southern Saints 5.3-33
Preliminary final - Geelong 6.9-45 def. Essendon 2.5-17

No update as yet re. VFLW or VFL games.

All local footy including VAFA has been cancelled for the weekend.

Understand VFLW GF between Collingwood and Geelong has also been called off. Pies beat the Bombers on July 10 to qualify for the grand final - and haven't played since.

The AFL released the following statement on Friday afternoon:
The AFL has advised all VFL and VFLW Clubs that this weekend’s scheduled matches in Victoria will not proceed following the seven-day lockdown announced by the Victorian State Government yesterday.

The includes the 2021 rebel VFLW Grand Final between Collingwood and Geelong scheduled for Sunday at ETU Stadium.

AFL applied for an exemption to play this weekends games but was unsuccessful.

I'm sorry for the girls but I really hope that they play in front of a crowd.
Victoria Park would be sensational and an ideal Nick's meet-up occasion.
