Coach sacking thread

OK Nicksters. 2024 is about 1/2 way through and some coaches are on a hottest of hot seats.
1. Ken Hinkley. Might not make it to July. Unfortunately for Port, the three kingpins of the club would all have to go for Ken to be sacked.
2. Matthew Nicks. Adelaide haven't played finals in 5 years under Nicks. One feels Nicks is gone at year's end or beforehand.
3. Simon Goodwin. 2 years of straight sets and this year the wheels look like they've come right off. Will be in a world of hurt with Trac requesting a trade to Collingwood at year's end

Should be Hinkley given he's coached Port for 12 seasons without a Premiership or Grand Final appearance. However, Port's board has no backbone and will probably stick with him until next year.
Nicks is tactically the worst coach in the league. He's had more than enough chances as well after five seasons in charge.
Goodwin will probably hold on, but needs a big 2025.

Nicks and Hinkley sleep a little easier this week.
Goodwin not so much

How long is Goodwin's contract? Payouts come outa the soft cap.
Adelaide extended Nicks too hastily.
Hinkley of course has no contract after this year, so he's under the pump.

It was Simpson gone today
Dean Cox short priced favourite to get the job
Generally prying a senior assistant from a top team to the cellar dwellers would be a tough job but given Longmire won’t be going anywhere any time soon you would assume then if he wants to be a senior coach he will have to go elsewhere

Dean Cox (Sydney assistant), Ashley Hansen (Carlton assistant) and Jaymie Graham (Fremantle assistant) the early frontrunners.
All ex-West Coast players as well.

Nathan Buckley mentioned in some of the media outlets as a probable replacement. He looks very likely to coach Wet Toast. I wouldn’t be surprised if he is confirmed as the coach. He will perform brilliantly if they don’t have the bad luck and injury curse that affected his coaching at Collingwood
