18 all at half time, poor accuracy from the looks (checking scores from Italy and will watch replay tonight). Promising start to the season this far by the stats.

Since there's nothing else on, thought I'd give it a look while cooking and eating dinner.

Colour me impressed. Last time I tried to watch AFLW the standard was (IMHO) shit. It was like bush 3rds.

This game is quite watchable. For speed and skill it's better than VFL to watch and quite comparable to AFL.

Well done ladies.

Great to hear Stui. I’ve decided to commit to the pies women’s team from now on.

Good 1st and final quarters by the Pies but inaccurate in the 2nd and the Swans kicked up a gear in the 3rd. Pies looked like they were going to get overrun but fought it out to get within 10 points in the last quarter.

Final score:

Pies 4.11.35 defeated by Swans 8.2.50

Goals: Rowe, Porter, Livingstone, Campbell

Top disposals: Bonnici 24, Frederick 22, Rowe 16

AF points: Frederick 121, Bonnici 83, Cann 73

More butchering than a Texas BBQ. Honestly the more things change the more they stay the same with this team. Can't kick straight to save their lives 4.11.

Another short AFLW season wasted after the first round. Why do we bother?

Across the AFL, VFL and now the AFLW the kicking for goal has been sub standard.

Not good enough!

Surely you jest. The bottom VFL side (oh that would be us) would thrash the pants off this AFLW team by 20 goals. Seriously.

BTW the brawl last night was a very bad look.

I enjoyed it. There’s no point comparing it to afl or vfl. Its was entertaining tough albeit low skilled but providing a pathway for girls to play professional football is fantastic and it’s time pies supporters got behind it.

My bug bear with afl is Collingwood make a ton of money thanks to supporters and we cannot spend what we would like on the field or footy department. I’d like to see us hence spend as much as possible on becoming dominant in AFLW and investing in the vfl team as well wherever possible, albeit with the same socialist constraints.

I have no doubt that any VFL team would smash the best AFLW team, as would most of the U18 teams. That's not the point. As a spectacle to watch, I thought it vastly improved and better than VFL.

Tarni White suspended for 3 matches after her late bump on Maddy Collier:

Update:

Collingwood challenged the 3 match ban at the tribunal last night (Wednesday) but challenge was unscuccessful.
