Swans will come out fighting. Everyone has written them off; everyone thinks it's gong to be a Hawthorn - Collingwood final and if by some miracle they win through Hawthorn will win it in a canter anyway ... so the Sawnnies have a point to prove. They want to show that they are a serious contender, and their effort will be HUGE - they will throw absolutely everything at us.
Won't make any difference to the final result though. Pies to take the game by the throat in the third and win by 14 points easing up to the wire after leading by 22. _________________ Let's eat Grandma. Commas save lives! |

^ Swans are favorites with all the bookmakers.
+ More media have been saying the Swans will win, than saying the pies.
I would say most are expecting (partially because they're hoping for) a Hawthorn vs Sydney Grand Final. |

I'm actually happy we got to beat West Coast to help get us into some good form. After the Qualifying final we needed form more than we needed rest.
The ONLY advantage Sydney have is that they've had the week off and yet they're favourites. Collingwood's beaten Sydney 11 times in a row, and our record against the Swans at ANZ stadium is 8 wins 1 loss: which was by 1 point in 2005.
For some reason Collingwood actually play better interstate than they do at the G. If you discount the recent blemish at Subiaco. Some of the boys keep saying they bond more on the road, and spend more time together and because of that feel more together when they play.
I think most people want to think Collingwood's "gone" and most Collingwood supporters are not daring to dream because they're expecting to get their hearts broken again.
This is why this week I've heard a lot of non-Collingwood people write us off and I've heard many Collingwood people talk down our chances. |

C'mon pies do this, I can't share the confidence of others that this will be an easier game for us to win than the Wce game, in fact I'm more nervous about this one. 200 minutes of football to the ultimate prize, do what needs to be done boys! _________________ "Hey Ma get off the dang roof!" |

Hopefully the umpiring can be a little more balanced in the opening quarter in comparison to the last two weeks efforts. Tough on the boys playing catch up footy three weeks in a row.
Pies by 13.
Pies as underdogs. Usually a good mix. _________________ Now Retired - Every Day Is A Saturday |

We got our final team together quite late, so I always felt we had more improvement in us than any other team over the finals period.
We've now had 3 weeks of improvement. From Essendon, to Hawthorn to West Coast.
Continue to improve each game, and we'll beat the Swans, and be a chance to beat whoever we play in the Grand Final.
The only thing causing me doubt over the Swans game is their week's rest. I'm still confident, but that rest and our 6 day break will make it tougher. _________________ Well done boys! |

Not sure what to expect from the Pies this week but will be cheering hard from the couch. Hope we have a big lead into the last as I think we will be tired.

Bloke called into SEN are reckons that the ground has been shortened. Probably just BS. Surely that would not be allowed to occur during a season? |

Yep, I heard that too.
Swans & AFL must be worried if they have resorted to altering the ground size.
Even if they beat the Pies they still have to to play the GF on the MCG which is bigger than the SCG anyway. _________________ If you are foolish enough to be contented, don't show it, but just grumble with the rest. - Jerome K Jerome |

Altering the ground size ?? Imagine if we did something like this at Vic Park! all we did was give them cold showers. _________________ " Ohhh Banksy and out comes the Note Book".

Surely the dimensions of the ground must stay the same after the start of a season?
Smells of desperation. |
