On the weekend vs the swans, I couldn't help but notice the amount of behinds both teams ended up with. In particular.. our boys.

At three quarter time the scores were 6.8 - 10.5. By the end of the last, they were 7.13.55-11.7.73. In the last quarter, we had the majority of the scoring up on the board. Our boys picked up 1.5, to the swans 1.2. If we had converted even half of those 5 behinds, to goals, we would have taken away the match.

Ten of our boys ended up with at least one behind next to their name, Ukovic, Bucks, Tarrant (2) L.Davis (2) N. Davis, Fraser, Freeborn, Holland, Johnson and Molloy, the thirteenth being a rushed behind..... what is going on??

Of those 13 behinds, at least three quarters of them SHOULD have in reality been goals, i'm not sure what percentage were set shots or rushed behinds or even from the run, but I do know our kicking needs to improve if we are to win low scoring games like these.

They kicked TWENTY POINTS!!!! We still need to kick straight, we would have won by 120-130 points by kicking straight. We had at least TEN "gettable" easy goals which were missed.

It was a fantastic game by the Pies and they looked on fire the whole match (insert cliche - "good four quarter effort").

BUT the fact that the Pies kicked more behinds than Melbourne had total scoring shots isn't good. I reckon we could have won by nearly 200 points but for very inaccurate kicking (some from 'point blank' range which should not be missed). However, I realise they don't miss them on purpose. They are probably now suffering under the pressure as they know that this year kicking for goal has not been good. Imagine what the team will be like when those shocking behinds are converted into goals - watch out you other 15 teams.

GO PIES - AT LEAST NINE IN A ROW, COMING UP!!! (Positive thinking).
