God help the competition if he's right!

Can't agree with that, at all, Culprit.
Beams was great last year; over the pre-season he knew what he needed to do to become a top flight player and put on over 5kgs, while also building his tank to the point of finishing very high in the time trial (top 5, I believe). There was no need to be "turned around", Beams was already on the right track.
I dare say he was being humble when he said Josh Thomas was a better player than him but if it's true, I'll be one very happy man. _________________ kill for collingwood!

Was this game the making of Dayne Beams?
NO WAY!!
HE HAS ALREADY ARRIVED!!
The kid is a star, and has been a very very good player for us! is in our best 10 players in my opinion, that is how big of rap i am for him.. I already have 2 different Collingwood jumpers with no 17 on the back as I really admire the way he goes about his footy
he is a goal kicker and a ball magnet, even better he uses the footy beautifly on both sides of his body and has a long penetrating kick..
will be a 300 gamer, 3 time premiership captain of the Collingwood footy club and dual Brownlow medalist!! _________________ THE PIES DELIVERED IN 2010 |

He's not made yet. I've been more impressed with Sidey than Beams this year, that kid's something special. Beams will surely end up being a more inside player - not too tall, not too quick and with a low centre of gravity. At the moment he's almost exclusively outside, with a weak defensive game. So, still has a way to go.
Don't get me wrong, he was excellent on the weekend, his composure was particularly impressive and he will be a very good player. _________________ Well done boys! |

Beams had a very, very good game against an average team, as good players do. What most impressed me was when the Bombers tried to turn up the heat and instead of shrinking from the contest or plateauing he increased his intensity and work rate above the opposition. Very impressed that he was able to change gears like that so easily.
Also have to make mention of Sidey's tackling during the game. Bloody hell the boy hits them like a tonne of bricks, I actually mistook him for Ball a couple of times because of how hard he was hitting them. _________________ A Collingwood supporter since the egg was inseminated. |

|
Club press release here:
Collingwood midfielder Dayne Beams has asked to be traded back to his home state, Queensland.
Beams, 24, is contracted to Collingwood for 2015 but explained that for family reasons he is keen to return to the state he was drafted from in 2008.
While sympathetic to the personal circumstances outlined to the club, Collingwood intends to retain Beams and will seek to help him best deal with these circumstances while continuing to play for Collingwood.
Collingwood Director of Football, Rodney Eade, outlined the club’s position.
“We want Dayne to stay,” Eade said.
“We understand his personal situation and will be working with him and his management, as we do all our players, to find an outcome that may give him more time with his family and remain a Collingwood player for 2015 and beyond.”
Out of respect to Grand Final week and the two competing teams, Collingwood will be making no further comment on this matter

Very disappointing but before some twist this into an anti Buckley tirade please respect Daynes reasoning. |
