Shocking, a kick in the guts. She was lovely. She asked my work colleague last year about advice to assist a friend who was depressed & suicidal. FFS. Very sad. She was all alone. |
Sad to hear WPT. Sorry for your loss mate. A friends suicide is always very confronting.
I personally think that the prospect of being alone is very levelling and something that would be very difficult to cope with. |

So sorry to hear that WPT that's terrible news.
My day at work today was very very sad - I can't elaborate due to confidentiality but despite best efforts we lost a little one
We couldn't have done anything more or anything different - but you still feel like you failed!!! _________________ “The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.” |

I took my 2cwt anvil over to an auction house in Woodend for sale next month.
I took my lovely, newly acquired hay knife and my Collins St blacksmith hatchet for a valuation by the auctioneer while I was there.
He went into raptures when showed him the knife and the hatchet and told me he could get me around $300 for each!
I bought these things to sell but I couldn't part with both so I thought for a minute or two and gave him the hay knife.
The hatchet is unique & has Australian/early Melbourne history splashed all over it and will appreciate a lot faster than the knife.
The knife is well cool but not quite the haystack needle I've been searching for so I chose the lesser of too evils.
I paid only $30 for it and I should be happy, but I'm not.
It's 1 of those rare finds I know I'll probably never repeat (like the hatchet) so right now I'm feeling like crap!
...or maybe I'm just hungry?
I skipped lunch so low blood sugar is a distinct possibility!
Oh well, I'm sure I'll get over it when I get the check arrives in the mail.
Life goes on (the search for the elusive hay-stack needle continues)!

Sorry to hear. Never nice saying goodbye to a loyal friend.
My bully, Daics, is 15 this year. He's in pretty good nic for his age, sleeps a lot more than he used to, hearing and vision have slipped a bit. Don't know how much longer he's got😕 _________________ Don't count the days, make the days count. |

Hunter was 15 or 16. I'm not good with that stuff, I just know he was old.

Oh that is sad Stui - when we lost our old boy at 18 ( he was a beautiful good natured Belgium Shepherd) it was just bloody awful and it took us ages to move his couch from the lounge room.
I reckon your old fella had a good life and was well cared for even if you wouldn't let him inside! _________________ “The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.” |

Damn shame, Stui. A good innings nevertheless, and unless I miss my guess, he had a good home and a good life. _________________ Let's eat Grandma. Commas save lives! |
