For anyone interested, I've posted more links to board-change news articles in the "2017 Member Forum"(+AGM) thread. |

Seriously, sometimes you should think a bit before you post, Dave.
You obviously don't know Paul. He is a great person, incredibly honest and of the highest integrity. It's a fantastic appointment and one we should be all rejoicing.
As well, Jodie Sizer, becomes the first female Indigenous Board member of any AFL club. She will be able to contribute to the area of reconciliation, and assist in the development and welfare of our Indigenous players, areas which our club has lacked the necessary skills for many years.
Both appointments are exciting and should be applauded by all club members. |

I don't want to interrupt DTM & Rudey fighting with each other.
But I can't resist pointing out that, at least in principle, it is possible for a person to be all of those things and also a yes man --- unless he either claims not to be a yes man or the person to whom he is a yes man is neither great, nor honest, nor of high integrity.
[No inferences about real people should be drawn from that statement.]
Okay, carry on arguing...

seriously Rudy you don't get what DTM is pointing out.
First Paul is a past player who played under Eddie, second he was a footy manager at Collingwood for 5 years after his playing career. He owes Eddie big time. We need outside board members not the usual Eddie sycophants.
Licca is a great bloke, no doubt about it.
I don't want great blokes, l want an effective board!
The incestuous appointments of certain managerial positions at Collingwood makes me sick.

My opinion of Lica is he is of the highest integrity and would not consider him
a yes man —that’s how he strikes me!!!
After his playing time with the Black and White he was involved in the off field goings on of the club and like Nick Maxwell good to have quality people with us
And to K a thanks for putting up the link—I am inept at that techno function _________________ I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right |

Have you ever consider that Alisa now has two children to look after so her situation has changed dramarically and she may not have the time available to fully commit to the club.
I know little about the status of Ian McMullin but he too may be at a turning point in his life. Pure adverse speculation holds little credability and can be destructive with no facts to back the comment up. _________________ Now Retired - Every Day Is A Saturday |

What you want is divergence of opinion at board level. If everybody thinks the same way whether they're yes people, or no people, the board can't operate effectively and the president and CEO can't do their job. So having friends of Eddie at board level is not necessarily a bad thing, but they need to be able to think independently to help Eddie do his job. If they just agree with everything Eddie says they shouldn't be there. |

It looks like the Niall article has been updated (unless I was suffering blindness when I first posted quotes from it). It states that Licca is close to Murphy. As I've stated before, I've got the impression that Murphy has made strong contributions to the club with his interim CEOship.
I've now included this in my links & quotes post on this matter in the "2017 Member Forum" thread.
