Omfg! Wowee he’s playing himself into form! I didn’t see it but even if it looks different on telly, that hand pass right In front of me! Seriously 500,000 for a player in the reserves for 2 years and he’s coming good now? He might put a couple together before he hits his walker!

If we are basing the team on Mayne we be £$%$ed! He’s an honest tryer and I’d love him to succeed but he will never be a pendles and he will never get back to his freo best now,

Does that include KOing Tom Phillips with concussion?

He did seem improved but was indecisive and lacked confidence which made for some errors in disposal. Hopefully that'll improve with this game. He needs to show more poise for the money we pay him

Huh ? It was a confused event but it happened near us and it looked like the cat’s tackle, not Mayne.

He was good today. You have to give real credit to the young man. He has fought his way back into the side through good reserves form, and he’s becoming more than handy, if today was any guide.

How many of those 26 were to our advantage ?

Not many.

25 possessions but only 154 metres gained. That's the killer and half of what Adams achieved with similar numbers.

I dare say the slow and congested style of game today suited the only pace that Mayne can muster out on the field these days.

Not our worst today but I still prefer others.

Funny what we see, I just watched it twice and it looked like his head was slammed into the turf. He may have grazed Mayne but Mayne showed no sign of pain, and if the knee had concussed his head, the knee would have been bloody painful.

Nah, it was the ground.

Look at the camera angle shown between 0:52 and 0:53. Go full screen & perhaps pause it too.
Mayne's knee made contact, but it's clear in only one shot from one angle. (Very clear, I'd say, but you have to see the exact moment . The view is blocked in all other shots.) Mayne's leg actually recoils from the contact.

Update: it's probably much easier to see in

He got a bit of it, but seriously, he looks lost and out of his depth when he has it.
Doesn't hurt the opposition with his disposal and I don't see him as a part of our future or developement.

Watched his game closely. Still very unsold on him. Not his fault, probably was his best game.. Solid effort, but alas, now a just plodder. Hope he can prove me wrong.. looks like a deer in the headlights most times when gets the ball. Possibly a confidence thing, but he hasnt the same same time to stop , prop and think in this face paced , quick thinking game. In a game when most of our players ( minus Crisp and Grundy) were underperforming, he perhaps was in our top 6.

Ah, yes, thanks, It’s very clear there. The tackle actually threw Flipper’s head into the path of Mayne’s knee. Lucky we didn’t lose Mayne as well.

The lack of pace is the most evident flaw about him. I thought he was reasonable for the most part, but still not sold on him in the long-term.

I think the match committee will persist with him based on Buckley's comments in the post match press conference.

Been getting better every week since he came in. If he continues on this trajectory he'll be best 22. Especially valuable given the growing injury list in the forward line.

25 disposals at 72%. Good spread of both contested and uncontested.
9 tackles
I’m not sure what more an ordinary player can do on the day.
Still, without Blair in the team, he was always going to be a prime scapegoat after the loss.
