Post subject: Justin Longmuir making a big difference to our back six | |
|
Hi lads, my first post and great to be part of nick's.
Its really good to see the magpies squad gelling, which is noticeable this season across both the 1st and 2nd sides.
The addition of Justin Longuir, along with a number of other changes in the off-season, is no doubt having a big impact on the playing group. Having played mainly in the backline myself (amatuers), i very much understand that mental attitude is paramount.
Will Pies assistant be coaching's next big thing? - http://m.afl.com.au/news/2018-05-22/is-this-pies-assistant-the-next-big-coaching-thing _________________ TBA |

In the picture, it looks like Murray is not wearing a mouthguard. I am speechless, and so may he be if he continues to do that. |

...and if his argument is that he “can’t breathe” or “speak properly” while wearing one, I’ll spew! It should be a mandatory requirement. It’s actually dangerous for opposition players to have exposed chompers coming at you in a contest. _________________ Est. 2002 |

Yes the mouthguards!
At u14 level, I would have to send the runner out to my youngest at least once a week to put mouth guard. Paddy Dow!! _________________ TBA |

Am wondering how much influence he had on Jack Crisps excellent form and better performance is due to John L _________________ I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right |

A goalless second half for our opposition this week. More evidence of his influence as well as the benefits of stability of the back six incl Howe, Dunn, Crisp, Shaz for most games _________________ One team, one dream - the Pies and this year's premiership |

Can the first quarter really be ignored in making such evaluations?
I mean, it's not like the oppo kicked heaps of goals the previous week either. |

There's a reason it's not called a sockguard or a shinguard. Buddy had his tooth knocked out when the ball was said to be down the other end of the ground. |

No, but a quarter can get away from a team quite quickly (we dominated the early part of 1Q too, so it was a bad final 15mins and it may take consecutive opposition goals before you look to reassess/respond and acknowledge a trend) and it is often not until you have time to reset things at a break that your coaching efforts start to kick in _________________ One team, one dream - the Pies and this year's premiership |

Sunday with heap of goals in front we leaked a few in last 15 minutes
Next Monday against Melbourne I suggest at the last 15 minutes if in front it won’t be a huge margin given Dee,s current form
So we cannot allow Melbourne the same opportunity that we afforded Freo
or we may well be 7 and 5 _________________ I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right |

I'll bet you $50 against you Lambo that Langdon never captains a game for Collingwood. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

He already runs the backline, Stui. Your call is probably fair enough, though - I don’t think Rance or McKenna captained their teams, either. That said, being better than both of them does give him a chance. |

Now I understand what they mean by “ there are lies, there are damn lies and then there are statistics “ 😉😉 |

Yes, I was also surprised that Rance and McKenna were so close to the Future Captain's output. Still, they are/were good enough players in their own way. |
