Post subject: 4 spots still up for grabs. 18 players are now best 22! | |
|
In my opinion, the 4 guys out there today who haven't locked in their spot in our best 22 are Mihocek, Wells, Greenwood and Daicos. The other 18 look amazing!
Who would you drop out of this group of 18?
Langdon Dunn Crisp
Maynard Howe Scharenberg
Phillips Adams Sidebottom
De Goey WHE Mayne
Stephenson Cox Thomas
Grundy Pendles Treloar
With Moore, Varcoe, Murray, Elliot, Aish and Reid on the sidelines (not to mention the rising youth in Sier, McLarty, Murphy and the Brown brothers), competition for those 4 spots is going to be intense. _________________ Ohhh, the Premiership's a cakewalk ....... |

If you can have 22 players on the field doing their job and another 6 banging on the door to get a go, you're in a good place. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

I think that’s a fair summation. Wells is definitely in if he’s fit (as are Varcoe and Elliott), but I guess therein lies the question. It’s a very impressive starting 18 right now, that’s for sure. _________________ "Every time we witness an injustice and do not act, we train our character to be passive in its presence." – Julian Assange |

Best 22 is a myth. It never happens. It’s a moving feast. Our best 22 now is vastly different to what most would have said in round 1 and it will look different again in round 22. If I see the effort, desperation and pressure like I saw today, I’d back us to beat anyone with any 22. _________________ 'Collingwood are the Bradmans of Football'

Maybe 5 years ago, but he is finished now, team is going backwards if he gets another game |

We have 2 guys injured who would walk into any side, including ours, in Elliot & Moore, but who would go out? To get a better idea I recommend grabbing the 2nd VFL match when we slammed the Northern Blues by 120. The games by Wills, Daicos, Sier, McLarty, L.Brown, Lynch & Ox are worth the time. We have plenty in reserve, but if Bucks doesn't give them a taste, manage their expectations, they could easily give it away, we don't want that. You need more than 22 blokes to have a great season.
I had doubts about whether Langdon was good enough to be in this star-studded 22, but the last few weeks he's found another gear & done some great things. One thing about Premiership sides is there's always guys who were unlucky to miss out. That will certainly be the case with us.
And yes, there's something about this side, and there is absolutely no reason we cant win the chockies in 2018. Our failures after Rd2 were against Rich. & Geel. I'm not worried about the pussies, we can beat them, no doubt. We were absolutely set up against Rich. Off 4 days with big injuries, & 2 blokes down at 3/4 time. The machine team of 1927-1930 wouldn’t have been a chance. Not bigly worried about them either. The big unknown is WCE, we'll have the answer to that question in a month. Of the rest, I'm firmly of the opinion that if we make the 4 there's no reason we shouldn’t take home the silverware, and if we do, it won't be a one-off like the Dogs & Tiges
Unless we decide to get the 12-gauge out again & shoot ourselves in the head! _________________ "If at first you dont succeed...

So not only are we gunna win the flag, but we’re gunna go back to back as well? Getting a bit ahead of yourself aren’t we? And how could we with a coach like Nathan Buckley? _________________ 'Collingwood are the Bradmans of Football'
