^The invitation of Murphy to the AFL draft does suggest he was possibly our alternate pick to Stephenson in the event that he was unavailable at pick 6. _________________ One team, one dream - the Pies and this year's premiership |

Some of the mock drafts I saw had Murphy going to the Dogs in the mid teens.
That he slipped so far was a bit surprising. |

That is a very big call indeed.
Interestingly Gary Lyon compared him to Josh Kennedy.
Even if he is half as good, that would be a bonus for us. |
Ive said this many times. His playing style is the closest to JK Ive seen.
kennedy at 21 years of age had only played 10 games. He was though averaging 19 touches a game. Brayden lays more tackles.
Im still squarely in his camp and see huge potential. Simply though he needs to get more footy. If thats fitness or confidence or something else we just need him to find more of the ball.
Not purely for the numbers game - but what he does with it can be exceptional. Some of the disposal by hand is extremely effective and creative. His disposal by foot is penetrating and damaging.
Keep playing him seniors - he could be anything !! _________________ "Even when Im old and gray, I wont be able to play but Ill still love the game"

Story in the Age about Sier.
A snippet:
Laid back Sier might seem, but Hine says the midfielder has an ideal temperament for footy, one not dissimilar to Swan and one that makes him the perfect player to take into tonight’s crucial, finals-shaping clash with Brisbane Lions at Etihad Stadium.
‘‘He’s very, very hungry to improve,’’ Hine said.
‘‘Don’t be fooled by that laid back demeanour. Underneath there’s a fierce level of competitiveness I can tell you. He’s almost got the ideal temperament to play at the level.’’

Really happy with this guy. Was very solid tonight. Interesting that second-year players like Brown and Daicos still feel like development players (nothing wrong with that, mind you), while 2018 debutants like Sier, Mihocek and Stephenson look like they’ve all played 100 games already. _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |
