You were saying something? |
I don't get your point ?
Sidey finished with less votes than Grundy Beams and Pendles thus making him the 4th best current or former magpie just like the statement said |

The level of praise went a bit too high early in the season, but Phillips really has had a very good year. Fifth in the coaches votes, even outvoting Adams. _________________ Well done boys! |

No, he didn’t. He finished ahead of Pendlebury. Who cares where Beams finishedhe doesn’t play for us.
I don’t get your point. Are you congratulating Sidebottom on another great season? _________________ https://forever.collingwoodfc.com.au/sav-sinks-the-dockers/ |

Sidebottom finished with 64 votes. Pendles with 62. Making Sidebottom 2nd ranked Collingwood player in the AFLCA.
Your attachment to Beams on this forum is understandable, but a little misplaced for most of us.
Sidebottom ranked 3rd overall behind Mitchell and Gaff in the Age Footballer of the Year award. Pendles ranked 6th overall. Does that make Steele our best player this season then - current and former?
The AFLCA votes are but one perspective. Grundy, Sidebottom and Pendlebury have all had good seasons, all been recognised in the All Australian squad and will likely finish top 3 in the Copeland for us.
Plus, each of these Collingwood players has had capable players from their own team snatching votes off them in the AFLCA. Beams, not so much. There is a bit of a relativity about this sort of voting.
Beams remains a fine footballer, but is a bit of an irrelevance for most of us on this forum. To make the statement that you did, comparing him favourably to Sidebottom in that manner, just smacks of someone looking for an argument given you're on a Pies supporters forum. It seems like pretty immature behaviour. _________________ One team, one dream - the Pies and this year's premiership |
