I don’t think anyone would use those terms nowadays – both are considered pretty offensive (particularly by Indigenous people, for whom it evokes the rhetoric of the times of the Stolen Generations and institutionalised racial discrimination. Probably as good a reason as any to leave terms for people like ‘breed’ in the past.

Take a typical Japanese person, an African of Bantu origins and a Nordic blonde, stand them side by side and you don't reckon there's a marked difference in appearance? Chuck in a tubby pommy ginger for effect if you like. |
Compared to a chihuahua, a bulldog and a labrador? Nope. Even if you didn’t take into account differences in facial features, body types and fur, consider pure size alone: a Great Dane weighs 20 times as much as a chihuahua. Compare that to the height difference between the average Inuit and average Ethiopian – there’d be 50 cm in it at most.
It’d be an interesting art project to depict what comparable variations in humans would actually look like if we were as diverse as dog breeds. Pretty freaky, I’m guessing! _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

Maybe get rid of the " " around breed and just have Breed? |
