Well I think we can put to bed any emerging methodology regarding De Goey; we needed him badly and he was no where to be found.
Cox had a quiet one as well, but to be expected really _________________ "The last thing he expected WAS THE FIRST THING HE GOT!!!!!"

Pendlebury was quite fumbly tonight and seemed a bit slow. Still having the effects from the virus I reckon. Hopefully he'll be better next week . _________________ I think therefore I think - I think |

We’re spent, cannot see us getting up against GWS, easy game for them today.
Varcoe doesn’t slip & kicks it & a different story... |
GWS had a slog on a ground with long grass. Very physical, and lost their best player most likely. _________________ Get back on top. |

Livid that we lost that. Well, the umpires were swayed by the home crowd in the last quarter. Very disappointing too cause it was a cracking game of footy. I think this game has revealed a few things.
1. West Coast are legitimate pretenders who got lucky. I hope we play them again in the GF cause I think it could get quite ugly.
2. Pies not fussed by finals pressure
3. We could just be the team to burst Richmond’s bubble.
All in all, proud of the boys efforts. Bring on GWS!! |

Tried hard but not competitive when it mattered in the last quarter. They were better than I expected them to be but you can’t really expect anything more from them at this stage. They are a middle of the road team.
I can’t see that Mayne can be selected next week, regardless of who is available for selection. He froze and couldn’t cope with the pressure. It was embarrassing to watch him almost every time he went near the ball. |

The 2 Biggest reason we Lost are
1-Cox was utterly Usless as a Forward Target
2-Playing Treloar and Howe without Match Fitness and Touch _________________ I am Da Man |

Play like this next week and gws will fold. Hey don’t like pressure. It was west coasts night, the ball fell for them, umps gave them dodgy free kicks... some of those decisions... it’s beyond me |

Bitterly disappointed with the result but not the effort, Still back them to get up next week. Look out Richmond. _________________ kymbo |

Some really terrible umpiring decisions may have made the difference in the end. I know it's to be expected over there, but FMD.
Unfortunately, otherwise, it was a game of two halves – we had most of the momentum in quarters 2 and 3, and WC had most of the momentum in quarters 1 and 4, the last one being when it mattered. If only we hadn't peppered the goals so much in the third quarter (though, to be fair, the Eagles missed some sitters too).
Grundy, Sidebottom, Goldsack, Mayne, Adams, Aish, Maynard, Greenwood and Crisp were terrific. Langdon very good too.
Cox, Hoskin-Elliott and Stephenson were ultimately passengers, unfortunately, and Thomas didn't do much either. Phillips got a bit of the ball but didn't always use it well. Howe struggled and Treloar was ok without impacting. Mihocek was good but his kicking let him down. _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |
