West Coast beat us 3 times. They could be seen to have the blueprint against us. That involves tandem rucks against Grundy almost tagging him. With only one ruckman we have to swing Cox into the ruck leaving us short up forward while Grundy goes off. Now with Roughhead we have options. He doesn't need to play every week, but he could play against teams with two rucks and and give us flexibility in selection. It also could mean Moore gets to play CHB. Roughead is mobile and versatile. He is no dinosaur. _________________ Magpies love pies(Lol) |

Maybe there's a Pies player who, instead of delisting him, they're helping him out with a trade to a club he's nominated? Dunno, it's a mystery. |
Because don't want impact the Compo Pick we got from Fas _________________ I am Da Man |

The Eagles did the same thing to Gawn too.
I had been thinking about whether this might change the way other clubs play against dominant ruckman.
Rougheads strength is his versatility. If he commits to getting the best out of himself and embraces the challenge of being at a new club, we will find a spot for him fairly easily I would think.
Roughead back and Cox forward would help Grundy patrol between the arcs and get to more contests. Surely that’s a win. |

^^Don't know. That's leaves us very tall in the key defensive posts, Roughead (200cm), Moore (203cm). I'd doubt that would be our first option.
I'd think it's more likely Roughead is being signed as cover for multiple positions (ruck/forward, defence, ruck) but won't be a first choice player. _________________ Well done boys! |

IF Moore is up and about, I agree with you.
The other way of looking at it, is that if Roughead ain’t getting a game, we are probably going alright both injury and ladder wise. |

Apart from his footy CV his personality CV is said to be first class
A good mate of Matty Boyd and we have seen with Howe and Dunne what good blokes bring to our club _________________ I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right |

I think this is a good decision. The lad probably won’t be a star but he is big and mobile and can slot into a variety of positions. I think he struggles to make the “best 22” but, as we know, the “best 22” is almost never available and, in that respect, he’s like a bigger, younger version of Goldie - a player who can do many jobs, as required. |

This.
Roughie's going to thrive at the Pies, a la Dunn, Howe. Fantastic pick up, I'm chuffed. |

Had dinner with a die hard dogs supporter on the weekend and they rave about his personality. A real good clubman and will be great pickup for our team.
They're shocked that he is not being offered a deal as he is extremely versatile and one of the key reasons they won the flag in 2016 |

Finals experience alone is worth something to our young group. Will be interesting to watch this one.
My first thought when I saw his name was ‘does he smash through people?’ _________________ You cant fix stupid, turns out you cant quarantine it either! |
