Thanks for those links. If more than a fraction of what’s said about Quaynor is correct, he should be in the senior team fairly early. |
These are very good bio links.
The first observation I noticed is that while Twomeys bio of Quaynor has him listed at 182, this bio has him listed at 179. In truth, he may be lucky to be 179 but that doesn’t mean that he isn’t a very good footballer or not subject to a growth spurt. I had posted before his best and worst can be too far apart ( sadly I hadn’t seen him play to many good games this year ) and this is highlighted in his bio. He’s got very good attacking attributes but that inconsistency might hold him back from from breaking into the grand finalists from round one.
I really like Kelly and it’s a pity he couldn’t test at the Combine. He’s matched it against the best collective of U18 KPFs we have seen in a very long while.
I guess if you’re ever going to give up two late first rounders ( yes I know we got something back ) then this is the year to do it. |

Agreed. Very detailed positive writeups.
By the sound of it, Kelly could play as a third tall or HBF if required while his body develops the size to play KP. |
Yes, same weight as - and slightly taller than - the King of Kings. He should be looking to take that spot by mid-2019. |

Quaynor was said to have had a thumb injury for part of this season and had to wear a guard.
Fair to say if you have a hand injury it potentially affects everything from simply gathering the ball in the first place, handballing, ball drop for kicking, marking and tackling.
If Quaynor's form dropped away for a period this season then that is probably your reason.
My take has always been the club absolutely loved what they saw in Quaynor when he spent time training with the club in the off season and Hine has been like a giggly schoolgirl in anticipation of drafting him ever since. _________________ He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD! |

Maybe 179 with hair, 175 without hair. I've been wondering whether Daicos & Cal B. have any growth left in them.
If we've seen enough of WK, it's probably good he couldn't test at the Combine.

Well, hope Hine can stay objective. |

Usain is looking for a gig, an attacking role seems to be what's he is after, he would rather be in than an outsider but the question remains is he fast enough? |

He would not fit into our salary cap. |

TAC players come into our consciousness very quickly these days and Quaynor is no exception. He was listed 18 months ago at 179c so it makes sense that he hasn't peaked out yet from a height perspective. 182cm currently makes sense and hopefully he can add 2cm more without losing agility and therefore match up on more players.
Remmeber these players were upon recruitment listed initially at these heights but now are:
1. Peter Daicos: 175cm but peaked at 184cm
2. Jordan Degoey: 187cm now 191cm
3. Steele Sidebottom: 180cm but now 184cm
4. Darcy Moore: 199cm, currently 203cm but may still be growing! _________________ I love the Pies, hate Carlscum |

^Murphy is still growing too. 189cm to 191cm and possibly as tall as 195cm.
Not yet 19yo. _________________ One team, one dream - the Pies and this year's premiership |

So after Quaynor and Kelly, we have a live pick in the 50's. Anyone got any suggestions if we'll use this pick and on who?
We had a kid called Ely Smith play for our reserves against Frankston this year. Strong inside mid, 187cm. Not sure if he'll slip to the 50s though.
The other one I like in the 30s range is Xavier O'hallaran, but again don't think he'll slip to 50s.
What about the Sudanese kid from our reserves. Showed a good turn of foot for a tall on occasions and skills are not bad |
