Yep, it's been more of a struggle to watch the EPL since Foxtel lost the rights in 2016. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023 | |

^ Thats why I love the concept of Kayo and Apple TV.
For $40 a month you get the best of both worlds, the only drawback is switching between apps. _________________ Human behavioural studies suggest people who use a lot of swear words tend to be more honest & trustworthy. |

Yeah, me too, 3 boxes. The Foxtel go app is awesome! You can watch Foxtel on 4 devices. I was watching the Big bash cricket on the way up to work last night and one of my daughters can watch it through my app at her place.
Had Foxtel for about 20 years, love it! The footy channel has been replaying some classic games lately. Just hope it's not polluted with that AWFL crap soon and they keep playing the classics. _________________ Don't count the days, make the days count. |

We had Foxtel (for the AFL) through Optus for 20yrs & were pretty happy with it for the most part but our house got hooked up to the NBN recently.
We haven't switched over yet though, we have until Jan. 17, 2020 before the internet & landline gets switched off forever.
Enquired at Optus about the AFL but they're only offering Fetch TV & no AFL coverage.
So we disconnected the Optus Cable TV, installed a satellite on the roof & connected Foxtel, we have the iQ4 unit thingie or whatever the hell it's called.
We'll see how we go when the season proper starts but the BBL looks good as did the Super Bowl when I watched it yesterday.
However we have great internet speed here, so this is why I am reluctant to switch over to the NBN & will do so at the very last minute.
Kayo looks good but we watch other stuff on Foxtel which is why we went with them in the end... _________________ WE WERE ROBBED, RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME, RIGHT IN FRONT OF MEEE!

Signed up for it early Jan and so far loving it, especially for $25 - which I was looking to - a sports option for less than $30/month. It has all the Fox Sports channels, ESPN And beIN sports.
I use Chromecast ultra on my Panasonic TV and it is great. Only downside is Chromecast doesn't support split-view - hopefully they will release Smart TV apps soon enough. Didn't have much issues with the quality so far with my NBN ftth.
There is a the option that you can share with a mate (so $12.50 each) if you only watch on 1 screen at a given time. _________________ Pies Forever |

It's in HD and very good IMO.
I've had it for over a month and will be keeping it. However I'm hoping to use it via my android tv box. I'm currently casting to the box from my phone, but would prefer a native app.

Joel why don't you download the app straight to your android box. _________________ Never disperse your focus unless absolutely necessary. Face one adversary at a time!

Ok, I've been bumbling away like an old fart trying to set up Kayo on my Apple tv which I've never used. After plenty of googling realised my new Apple tv is 3rd gen so not compatable for Kayo. New a/tv over 2hunge. $279 for the 4k 64 gig model. [L.G. smart tv doesn't have the app.]
Is this the best option? |

I only recently discovered that Optus provides EPL coverage to those without Optus accounts (like me) thru Apple TV. I've had an Apple TV for a couple of years, but disconnected it ages ago when Telstra gave me a 'free' T-Box. Anyway, I have now reconnected the Apple TV Box and taken out a $14.95 per month subscription for Optus Sport, which gives me full EPL and champions League coverage.
Now i can enjoy Liverpool's run home to Trophy winning Glory! |

Tick for Kayo, replay already available with Key moments (which are basically just all the goals). _________________ Human behavioural studies suggest people who use a lot of swear words tend to be more honest & trustworthy. |

Yeah, I don't have Foxtel just for sport, there's lots of other stuff I like depending on mood. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Pardon my computer and internet ignorance.
Do you get HD streaming with Kayo TV or not?
I have Apple (old apple TV & only used for Netflix etc) and I also have a fetch TV box - purchased separately for FTA catch up.
I have Optus cable & need to change in the next month to an NBN provider
(I'm told iinet are pretty decent to deal with)
I have a great TV that isn't smart: (Pioneer 50" plasma commercial panel - the last of the Japaense made panels before things went to China & Pioneer got out of TV's) The HD picture is still something else. I link the panel to a Pioneer receiver where it connects with a HDMI to DVi connection _________________ “I even went as far as becoming a Southern Baptist until I realised they didn’t keep ‘em under long enough” Kinky Friedman |

Yes to HD - provided you have the correct equipment.
The old apple tv might not be up to it, I think you will need the ATV 4. The Fetch TV box is a no go.
As for your Internet provider, go with Aussie Broadband. They have a deal on at the moment: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/deals/aussiebroadband.com.au. They are well regarded.
I use two android boxes, an expensive one called an Nvidia Shield and a second called a MiBox. It works on both very well. |
