They first thought he got a corked thigh. Then it was a back injury.
He was stretchered out of the rooms with a mask on after the game.

We won the game playing one short while still playing poorly.
I remember reading the same crap and negativity as last year.
You only have to do two things in the footy season and in the following order
1 ) win enough games to play finals
2 ) be playing close to your best footy in September so as to give yourself a chance of going deep. That’s still FIVE months away. |

Absolutely!!! Whatever this idea was to play him up the ground, scrap it!!!!!! He's brilliant at sneaking goals - please keep him there Bucks.
I have the feeling that we've been experimenting a bit with game plans so far this season. Trying to find a way of playing controlled football to match it against the Richmonds and Eagles. Please forget that idea Bucks. We have talent to burn and we thrived on chaos football last season. Taking the game on at all costs is the way, not trying to control the movement of the footy. We are great at that - it fires up all the players, brings out the best in them and they play instinctively and brilliantly when allowed to play their natural game.
BTW, Varcoe is worthy of selection simply for his inspirational attack on the game. He never, ever stops busting his guts, works his heart out and lays serious force against the opposition at every opportunity. Great leadership. |

Go home and stir the hubby
Not that he would care.
Still, for a western suburb girl you can have first bragging rights both at home and around the neighborhood |

On no! F**k that is so bloody unfair!!!! He doesn't deserve that! Get better soon Chris Mayne. I really feel for you. it should've been a joyous occasion of celebrating a win for your 200th. Rotten luck. |

Agree. We played poorly, yet still won. And we were a man down as well. Terrible news about Chris Mayne. Stretchered out with a mask on?? Hell, I hope he is OK. _________________ Free Julian Assange!!

TP, he looked extremely sore and sorry after the game. Bucks had a very worried look on his face when speaking to him. . It's being said by commentators that he sustained a back injury of some sort, not just a corky. Poor bugar.
Which makes you realize that the win was better than it looked, missing Mayne for the entire game and being one down in rotations. |
Thanks mate just saw it on AFL, looks like a knee in the kidney, not good _________________ You cant fix stupid, turns out you cant quarantine it either! |

Oh, for sure. The scotch is a must, after witnessing that game and sustaining that injury. |

I’m such a klutz!
I agree with the midfield worries some of our r big names don’t seem to be there much
And we really miss the class of WHE
Who would have thought we would all be so devastated over Mayne _________________ You cant fix stupid, turns out you cant quarantine it either! |

It was a great fight back to win it in the last quarter against a very good team.
However, on a night when Grundy wins the hit-outs 60 to 6, our supposed star midfield should have dominated the clearances, yet we only won there by a small margin. It was only when De Goey moved into the midfield in the last quarter that we began to dominate this area, and the goals soon followed.
Terrible news about Mayne. It sounds like a damaged kidney, which is incredibly painful. This is potentially a very serious injury.
Callum Brown, sorry but I think it's back to the ressies for you. |
