Reid has been marking everything in the VFL. But his set shots have been woeful.
Considering we need to counter Essendons pace, I dont think Reid is the answer. Rougheads done enough not to be dropped.
The Sier omission moments before todays VFL game is puzzling. Reinjured or keeping him ready for Thursday? _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

We can't afford to bring in Reid, or else Essendon will kill us with their leg speed.
Roughead has done a serviceable job so far, and it would be harsh to drop him at this stage. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023 | |

I think we keep Reid in the magoos unless we have a huge amount of injuries - can't afford for him to break down again and all he is now is insurance, desperate insurance. _________________ All Aboard!! Choo Choo!!! |

With a five day turnaround, I would also be looking for players who are playing today but are rested from around half time onwards.
Guys like I Q and Appleby, Goldy etc may have the feet up early in the third.
Obviously that option would also be available to Sier if he was ok to play today, so my guess is he’s out with an injury of some description. |

Reid is a forward these days and has played his vfl there this year. There is no way he is a swap for Roughy. Unless its injury driven.
Roughy n Moore are good match ups on Brown Danhier and their resting ruck. Howe gets Stringer.
Appleby if fit or Greenwood, are the Aish replacement options at this stage I would think.
I think ideally Wells needs another week or two in the vfl. Want him rock hard fit.
Need manic tackle pressure as the main focus this week and defend the corridor. They seem suceptable to that disturbing their freewheeling mid style of play. If you see them going to a slow chip sideways/backwards style or getting them to turn over in the middle of the ground, we have set up well. Which is nearly opposite for WCE for example. |

Mayne's a big loss against Essendon. We need smart players that are prepared to put in the hard running. It's not necessarily about space but about smart positioning to block their run. Varcoe is going to be important here. _________________ Well done boys! |

With Appleby now likely to miss, the like for like replacements are starting to dry up.
They won’t want to upset the structure of the back six, so maybe Crocker comes in around the wing and one of more “ smarter “ mids spends time in the back half. Quaynor is also like for like but I’m not convinced he’s quite ready.
Tipungwuti and Fantasia are both quick and mobile. Maynard will get one but the loss of Aish is bad timing coming up against their two small forwards.
One thing remains the same in footy, control the mid field and the opposition forwards won’t get a look in anyway. |

Let's try Wills on the wing, where he can play the same role as Mayne. |
