The sooner Robert Harvey gets the St Kilda job the better for us I suppose.
North are in control against the Lions in Brissie. Any chance we can snag Rhys Shaw? |

What are all these commercial appearances everyone's talking about? |

Really flat and average performance, Appelby was the wrong selection. Our backs didnt support each other enough and we lacked hunger. Shining lights if any were Crisp, Brown , Grundy , Roughead , Sidey and Pendles . Adams tried hard but still rusty.
Lets see how much this season means to them on friday night. _________________ " Ohhh Banksy and out comes the Note Book".

But you didn't fly to Darwin during the game, right?
So whose fault is it? |

How quickly we forget. Mihocek was best on ground last week against the vaunted eagles defence, whilst Cox kicked 3 notwithstanding dropping many marks.
Cox dropped some sitters today, whilst Mihocek was off and had a shocker. I'm not sure that the delivery to them today was the best or that they had space today to hVe an impact. |

Agree that Adams was rusty and missed some handballs which were costly. Pendles fumbling early due to his finger cost us a goal early as well. |

Last week was the aberration. The 3 weeks around last week seem to be the reality. |

Our core is Stephenson, DeGoey, Grundy, Treloar, Langdon, Scarenburg, Adams, Aish, Brown, Phillips, Roughhead, Crisp, Moore,WHE, IQ, Sier and Maynard.
Our senior citizens become Pendles, Beams, Mayne, Greenwood, Sidebottom and Howe.
Our second and third tier depth needs an over haul.
We have to say farewell to Wells, Goldsack, Dunn, Varcoe, Reid, Murray, Broomhead, Appleby and Magden.
Question marks over the worth or trade-ability of Elliott, Thomas, Murphy, Wills & Crocker. Either keep, trade or delist. Assuming not too much interest in most of them.
Cox is contracted but the last four weeks has shown him to be a liability, too many commercial appearance's and too often failing to show anything on the ground.
2019 is not over, however if we are smarter than we have been, a lot of second and third tier players need to be replaced with smart recruitment as we lack a first rounder in the draft. |
Courageous thinking Born to Pie. However (there's always that isn't there! ) would Collingwood supporters be patient enough to go back to the well, without demanding that certain heads should roll?
On days like today, I almost wish I supported a club where expectations weren't so high. Note I said almost! Being a Pies supporter is both a burden and a joy as we all know, but impossible to have it any other way! |

When our effort drops off we get absolutely smashed, as we should as every team does. We are no different there. We are currently crippled with injuries as always around this time of year and today played a top side with too many inexperienced players, players coming back from injury, players unfit for selection and players not up to AFL standard. With all that in mind it is no wonder we were non-competitive. Especially after last weeks epic game against a team we have emotional baggage with, to go back on the road against one of the best, well, we should have expected this result.
Do we have any choice but to try and write this one off, knowing that at home with rest with a stronger lineup that we can beat this mob and beat any mob in the country. I hope so, but it is hard to see when we are so up and down and look really off the boil. We should be a lot better next week. Expect a big improvement. Not sure if we are good enough to go all the way this year, still a shit load of improvement required. _________________ RED "BABY" CAVANAUGH: Didn't hear what the bet was.

This year, as in winning the premiership Swoop? Yep, you're probably right, but there's still some time to enjoy the abilities and talents of many of our wonderful players. Loved the high marks of Howie tonight. Loved the skills of Pendles kicking for goal, broken finger and all. Loved the "road running" action of little Callum Brown to kick two etc. Plenty of highlights to come |

If you thought we did it tough with the umps tonight, spare a thought for North. Brions with two frees in the goal square that weren't there in the final minute to win the game. They are second now. So we slip further. Obviously the AFL wants to have Brisbane and Sydney doing well (and since the Swans are no longer much good the Giants will do). As if the AFL doesn't manufacture outcomes. |
