This will be one of the best wins we've had in recent times if we do it.

Yeah, the best win in two weeks.
And if it's a loss, it'll be the worst loss in 6 days.
(At least there'll be the excuse of coming up against an injury-free opponent.) |

In: T Brown, Shaz, Broomy
Out: Crocker (just for that attempted dribble goal). Appleby, Varcs
You'd think Tyler Brown's chance has finally come.
I love Varcs but he just doesn't get enough of it anymore. Broomy has always been a smart player, and would inspire the team to have him back. Do it Pies. |

Hell, injuries are now seriously screwing us over.
Greenwood, Aish, out for at least 4 weeks each
Moore out for at least another 3 weeks
Noble out for probably at least 2 more weeks
Langdon gone for the year
this on top of
Stephenson out for another 6 weeks
Given this information, our selection options are now getting limited big time.
Here are mine:
Appleby out: Scharenberg in
Crocker out: Elliott in (hopefully)
Aish (inj) out: Thomas in
Mayne (inj) out: Goldsack in
Varcoe out: Wills in
My mistake last time, in omitting Brown. I agree we need to keep Brown in as he offers something different and creates opportunities in our F50.
I really want to play Wills and Sier together so that we have 2 big bodied midfielders capable of running through the centre. We can then have multiple rotations of other players runnign through the midfield (Crisp, Maynard, etc) while Sier/Wills replace them. JDG can then stay forward because we need him to play FF. Wills is in great tackling form apparently so his main brief will be to apply tackling pressure, wherever he is located.
Cox stays because in the WC game he looked like he was returning to form. The GWS game was a step backwards, but that is always the way: one step back and two steps forward. _________________ Free Julian Assange!!

On the Couch, showed a stat that we are 18th for scores from turnovers from round 10-18. Gold Coast are better than us in this stat! We just can't run the ball in open play. This is just not on the players. The coaches have to take some heat for this. Enough of this stop, start, down the line crap. Play some football Pies and move the ball. Geez. |

I saw this. Staggering.
As for all the injuries it can't be just bad luck 8 years running. It has to be a combination of bad fitness preparation, poor training programs and picking players susceptible to injuries like some people are to a cold. It's hard being a Pies supporter sometimes (most of the time actually). |

That's where stats can be twisted anyway you want to (attempt to) prove a point. Perhaps the real story behind that stat with Mayne is that he makes a contest of it and spoils would-be possessions rather than being 2nd to the ball and chasing...at least that's what I see in most of his games.
He has had a very good year and doesn't deserve to be dropped off the back of a poor team showing. He is in doubt however, with knee soreness (according to ch7). _________________ I find your lack of faith disturbing |

Sier the big-bodied midfielder running through the centre....ha...we wish...he's more likely to (hospital) pass it off to a teammate under pressure before he's within several metres of an opposition player! _________________ I find your lack of faith disturbing |

I have absolutely NO idea how the hell we will go in this match. The fact is, the friggin Tiger train has hit form, they have got back some vital players, in contrast to us, we just keep bloody losing players, some for months. The tigers r in form, we are not, we showed against the eagles a magnificent fighting spirit, guts, courage, against the odds, but then it all went down the dunney the following week, that first qtr was a shocker. So, which PIes team will turn up, the weak as cats piss one ala v Nth Melb, GWS, or the Weagles one, guts personified. ??
Which Magpies team will turn up.?????? IM damned if I know, what I do know is we are missing both Langdon and Stevo shockingly, much worse than what we thought. Watson is right, Langdon is a massive loss for us. Irreplaceable, out for season, so ive heard. sigh.
So what team turns up for us, at this stage, I have absolutely no idea. Damned if I know. I just dunno, im just hoping for the best for us. _________________ Poverty exists not because we cannot feed the poor, but because we cannot satisfy the rich.

Agree. It is staggering. This was one of our strengths last year. This style of play, refusing to risk the corridor, and trying to retain possession at all costs, is incompatible with the real strengths of our team. _________________ Free Julian Assange!!

If Cox is a forced out, should we not test out Max Lynch? _________________ Free Julian Assange!!
