Just a recent 'heads up'!
AFL Postie Squad : 1 hr ·
Banned Pie Sam Murray is free to play next year after drug-test drama.
Saw him a few weeks back and he’s about 120KG so I doubt he will be back.

Yep we’re lucky to finish top 4
Lucky to have a home final v Geelong
Lucky that Stevo got to play even though his suspension had finished
And now we’ve lucked out again with Murray able to play in 2020
May as well just give us the cup now as this competition is clearly rigged in our favour 🙄 |
Yep - what a week for us - mostly full of good news and lucky breaks; the injuries being the only downside, but the vibe around the place must be pretty good now with this type of news.
It does make me wonder though - would it have been as long as an 18 month suspension if they had've wrapped this up after 6 months? Something tells me they didn't have too much on him that they could've put him away for 4 years (or even 2 years)...so perhaps their indecision has cost Murray more time than he actually deserved, and he only got the 18 months so asada don't look like they've mishandled it themselves? In other words if he deserved 12 months then they're not going to come out and say that now - they'll just give him 18 months and then everyone is happy... _________________ I find your lack of faith disturbing |

Don’t know who you saw, because it wasn’t Sammy. This is simply not true. Cut the bullsh*t and stop making stuff up. He’s fitter than when he was playing. Been smashing it in the gym of late as well as training at Wang Rovers under his former coach Darren Creswell.

Yes. WADA has an option to appeal anything they don't like. So Fat lady hasn't quite sung on this. But would WADA be bothered with a sport off the radar of most the world and an offence probably considered on the low end?
Reckon there would be bigger fish to fry. |
They did it for Essendon, don't forget. _________________ "Every time we witness an injustice and do not act, we train our character to be passive in its presence." – Julian Assange |

Good to hear re Sammy's status - obviously some troll posted a disparaging comment in another forum to demean him. |

And you pass it on?
Good luck to him, but he will have to earn back respect before I give him a hi five! Signing Grundy is far more important before we decide if he still has a spot. _________________ You cant fix stupid, turns out you cant quarantine it either! |

With IQ and Noble coming into the team and his contract expiring at the end of this year, we'll soon see how much Bucks rates him. |

I didn't think he could train with any competitive clubs while banned? |

Assuming he's prepared to cease the actions that landed him in trouble to begin with then this is very good news.
Showed he has plenty to work with (and improve on) in his short career so far.
Remember the likes of Ben Johnson, Rhyce Shaw and Alan Toovey had their fair share of critics to begin with and I view Sam in a similar fashion as a player.
If he can couple greater composure with his break neck speed and willingness to use it then we could have a very capable player on our hands. _________________ He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD! |

I can't see why we'd stick with Thomas and Keeffe for the 2 seasons of their ban and not give Murray the same opportunity. Sure Noble and Quaynor have currently surpassed him in the 22, but the same could be said for Thomas and Keeffe. |

The AFL decided that Wang Rovers are not competitive. |
