Al-Qaeda claims Madrid responsibility

http://news.ninemsn.com.au/World/story_55463.asp

Quote:
AP - Spain's interior minister said a videotape claiming al-Qaeda carried out the Madrid terrorist attacks had been discovered.

But, Angel Acebes said, the claim's veracity could not be confirmed.

Acebes said a man identifying himself as the military spokesman of al-Qaeda in Europe claimed the group was responsible for the train bombings that killed 200 people and wounded 1,500 during morning rush hour on Thursday.

"We declare our responsibility for what happened in Madrid exactly two-and-a-half years after the attacks on New York and Washington," said the man, according to a government translation of the tape, which was made in Arabic.

"It is a response to your collaboration with the criminals Bush and his allies."

The answer to all of this will revolve around the unexploded bomb found in one of the carriages. The design of the bomb is the blueprint of the maker. It is the one constant in this sort of thing. Finding a mobile phone with the bomb will be another piece of the puzzle.

Phones would be pre-paid, and unless they used a card upon purchase, are nigh on untraceable.

And the govt, who tried to use it for their own cheap political ends, got shafted big time.

I hate terrorism. It's so sad to think that people resort to such tactics. Why does the mind work in such a way, so that people can be brain washed so easily? It's sad to think that the world has been changed forever because Al-Queda and other copy cat organisations seem to think it is their God given duty to blow up everything, for God. BAH!

but what can they do 2 'upgrade' the security tess? like if they go 2 far it wil be a major pain in the arse to get anywhere, therefore giving the terrorists wat they want, and if theyre guna blow up something i reckon theyd manage no matter how high the security is.

and joel, that is precisely why i think all religions are a load of BS, how many wars, deaths, terrorists, all end back at religious reasons? Rolling Eyes
