It’s interesting – if we applied halves, Taylor Adams would right now be fourth instead of equal third, and John Noble would have a whole less point. Let’s just hope this doesn’t end up deciding any of the final positions *gulp* _________________ "Every time we witness an injustice and do not act, we train our character to be passive in its presence." – Julian Assange |

We have a new leader in Adams, with Maynard not far behind, and Grundy and Pendlebury still well and truly in it (though the captain hasn’t polled in a while). A decent gap has opened up between those four and the next few contenders, with Howe still remarkably sitting in fifth despite having only played the first four matches. _________________ "Every time we witness an injustice and do not act, we train our character to be passive in its presence." – Julian Assange |

^ The Captain hasn't polled in a while because he didn't play between round 7 (when he did poll) and round 12.
And, right on cue, there's the Captain with votes in his first game back! |

Ok, I think we’d better pick this up tomorrow night, lol – obviously everyone’s off to bed, and I should be too! But looks like a fascinating count. Adams is in the box seat, but it’s far from over (I have a feeling Maynard might make a late move). _________________ "Every time we witness an injustice and do not act, we train our character to be passive in its presence." – Julian Assange |

Did some people just give Grundy 5 votes every time he stepped onto the field? |

Thanks for doing this David. Much appreciated.
Wasn't Jeremy Howe flying at the start of the season!! That PCL really was a disaster for him , the team and the supporters.
Interstingly, not one Brownlow vote for him across those 4 games. It sure is a mid-fielders medal!! |

The difference is that the Brownlow votes only go the best 3 players on the ground. Looking at the coaches’ votes, he wasn’t clearly top 3 in any of the first 4 games (though he was in the votes in 3 of those games). The game where he was arguably unlucky not to get a vote, the umpires gave 2 to Mihocek (the coaches gave Howe and Mihocek each 5). |

You're welcome, PP.
This is one thing I like about the GB Medal! It still has its oversights, of course – Roughead never gets a single vote despite playing an essential role in the team week after week – but defenders like Maynard, Moore, Howe and Noble are much more represented here than they are in most other awards. I think the 5-4-3-2-1 has helped spread the vote around a bit so that they don't all go to the usual suspects. _________________ "Every time we witness an injustice and do not act, we train our character to be passive in its presence." – Julian Assange |

And here I was thinking John Noble's current vote count – the result of no fewer than three ties – would be the most controversial '8' in this thread. _________________ "Every time we witness an injustice and do not act, we train our character to be passive in its presence." – Julian Assange |
