The rumour is an unnamed Victorian club has made an offer to McStay that could be in the vicinity of a six-years and $600,000 per season.
Is he worth that? He'll be 32 by the time that contract would end. I wonder which club it is? _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

What about Lukosius at the GC? Rumors of discontent from him, not enjoying where he is being played apparently....younger and more upside than McStay _________________ "You hate a mean man, a grasping man, a man who wants everything and gives nothing. If he’s not happy being played as a forward at GC (which is where he’s been playing this year) then why would he be happy playing as a forward for us?
We need someone who is 195cm plus, 100 kgs and a proper forward. Look to the state leagues and bring one in during this mid season draft.

21 years old. ✔️
195cm. ✔️
Position Forward/Defender. ✔️
South Australian. X Only an issue if Port or Crows appeal to him more.
Would require a trade. X.
Has kicked more than 1 goal in a game, once in his career. X
Seems to play more in defence than in F50. Contested marking stats are low, but intercept marks are high. Pressure acts are good, tackling is outstanding. Set shot looks average. Doesn't get involved in ruck contests, not at all. Gets a bit of the pill, but disposal efficiency isn't great, however, his biography says he is a pinpoint kick.
Not playing as KPF and cant help out in the ruck. Is he being played out of position?
Currently injured, so we might not see him play against us this week. He is listed as a test. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

* doesn't kick goals
* has the intensity of Jack Watts type

Lukosius is not a key forward. He's more suited as a third tall defender or tall running wing. His field kicking is sublime and he reads the play well behind the ball. He is not a solution to KPF woes.
McStay has garnered attention on the back of 1 very good game earlier in the season - after playing for 9 odd seasons and 100+ games. At best, he is a complementary tall forward and not a focal piece. It's all well and good to have complementary tall forwards, as long as they are complementing someone other than another complementary piece. He is not the answer as we have Checkers who does what McStay does, only much better. The difference is that McStay has Daniher and Hipwood to compliment and we have noone of that caliber (regardless of whether you like or appreciate those 2).
We have a tall mobile option in Krueger (if his body is up to it) and a perfect complimentary tall in Checkers. What we need is a number 1, a definite, game changing power forward. These don't grow on trees and thinking a bit player or a positional shift from a player at another club is the answer is just not going to work.
It's a top end draft pick, or a very big trade/FA that gets it done. |

If up until now McStay had shown some ability in key defence as well as up forward you could probably build a case for him but alas I don't believe that to be the case so it's a no from me. _________________ He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD! |

and by the way, when we get him, we'll all bitch and moan that we paid overs and shouldnt have done that to retain top talent......
You should look at the top 20 breadwinners in the AFL. It now includes Cameron and Joe Daniher.
Could you imagine the gaskets that would have blown if we paid $900k per year for Daniher and he didnt kick 19 goals a game!! _________________ Ohhh, the Premiership's a cakewalk ....... |

Lukosius not great on Sunday. But it was his first game back from injury.
Bit of talk about he and Rankine leaving. When looking at Will Brodie, perhaps taking a chance on a Suns reject could pan out. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

GC with horrific development record. You would look closely at all their high picks that haven't come on imo |
