Last game of the H&A season
Pies vs Southport (Home)
Saturday 19 August @ 12.05pm, Venue AIA Centre
Match centre:
https://www.afl.com.au/vfl/matches/5277
Ladder:
Pies 9th (10 wins, 7 losses, 115.9%) Southport 13th (8 wins, 9 losses, 112.5%)
Telecast via VFL website (link above)
Pies are pretty much assured of finishing in the top 10 and qualifying for the wild card round. There are currently 3 teams on 40 points (Pies, Blues & North) Richmond can jump into the 10 if they beat North, Blues play the Suns who are top of the ladder, so odds are in the Pies favour even if they lose - finishing the H&A would be good though.
The highest the Pies could finish is 8th as other teams have a better percentage.

Pies currently 8th on the ladder.
North could go above them but they play Richmond tomorrow - Tigers will be fighting for a place in the wildcard round.
And to make today a bit better, Carltons VFL side got flogged by Gold Coast by 127 points _________________ If you are foolish enough to be contented, don't show it, but just grumble with the rest. - Jerome K Jerome |

Good to see the two Macs, Ruscoe and Johnson doing well. Looks like Mc Reery will get a week so maybe One of these or Carmichael gets a run in the ones.
If Murphy dosn't get up for next week Ruscoe could get a run _________________ I think therefore I think - I think |

Time to give Ruscoe a chance at senior level. Should make way for Ryan or Murphy (if he's unavailable).
Good to see Johnson, McInnes and Macrae all perform well. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023 | |

Yep! I put together the full roster of VFL-listed former Pies earlier this year here. Manteit’s the only one playing for one of the non-Vic teams:
