I haven’t been there for years.
As far as I know it is just street parking near the ground.
Edit: There is parking next to the ground but assume that will be limited to players & support staff.
Also parking along The Esplanade and near Williamstown beach (there may be time limits and/or ticket machines)
Train station is a 5-6 minute walk. _________________ If you are foolish enough to be contented, don't show it, but just grumble with the rest. - Jerome K Jerome

Always windy at the ground. Catches a lot of opposition teams out taking their shots on goal or kicking out from deep in defence. |

Weather forecast is for sunny and light winds which makes it better for us.
I have seen games at Willy where kicks got blown sideways because of a howling gale. Ground is open and next to the water. Williamstown definately has a home ground advantage playing there. _________________ If you are foolish enough to be contented, don't show it, but just grumble with the rest. - Jerome K Jerome |

Always windy there off the old Gelibrand oval.
To me its the most windy ground in the world.
Can be dead calm in the city but blowing a gale there at Willy.
Its terribly exposed and so goal kicking means that if you have the wind you are 4 goal advantage.
Tricky to play there.
Win this and we could play off in the prelim.
Dont be sucked in with light winds there is not anything light about the place.
By memory the oval is stuck out onto a point.
Only car parking is in the back streets a like 10 minute walk to the ground.
Also not much in the way of food and drink outlets either.
Plus it can rain there instantly so take a brolly even if its a dry day.
One part of the ground is right on the waters edge and even a ball kicked out on the full can end up in the bay.
If you like the bay and water and wind this is the ground for you.
Plus watch out for the sea gulls.
From memory Collingwood were once affiliated with Willy as well so both got good history with each other. |

Only if its a 150 metre torp or one of the seagulls gets hold of the ball... _________________ If you are foolish enough to be contented, don't show it, but just grumble with the rest. - Jerome K Jerome |

Was playing great footy.
Then next i saw him in a sling along the boundry there at punt rd.
Heard it was collar bone.
Hoping we could see him play afl finals. |

You have Google don't you? It's about 300m from Williamstown train Station.
Do your own train timetable search. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Team has been named:
B: Kelly, Dean, Ruscoe
HB: Draper, Jetta, Bianco
C: Lane, Allan, Murley
HF: Richards, Harrison, Wilson (AFL)
F: Kreuger, Glover, Johnson
R: Begg, Macrae, Hustwaite
I/C: Mulvogue, Steene, Tardrew, Wilson (VFL), Longmire, Ashwin, Purcell
Emg: Silvagni, Tomasiello, Raines, Blackmore-Moore, Booth
No McInnes or Carmichael for us, and we haven't named Ginnivan either (the only other AFL-listed player who was apparently eligible). But Charlie Dean being named for his first game of the year (and only third ever VFL match for Collingwood) is big news! Honestly not even sure how that works given he was placed on the inactive list, but good on him. _________________ "Every time we witness an injustice and do not act, we train our character to be passive in its presence." – Julian Assange |

Congratulations to Co-captain Lachie Tardrew who will play his 100th game for the Pies tomorrow:
https://www.afl.com.au/news/1021413/century-up-for-magpies-mainstay
"Tardrew briefly considered returning to his home club Sandhurst in the Bendigo league this year, given he now lives and works in the area.
However, his love for the VFL and the Magpies means the school teacher make the trip down the Calder up to four times a week.
“It can take its toll but I love the VFL enough and I love Collingwood enough to continue to do it,” he said.
“I just wanted to be closer to family. My partner Millie lives there and I also have employment there so it ticked all the boxes, just not with the footy.
“The temptation (to play for Sandhurst) was there. I’ve obviously got a lot of connections with the club, they’re great people and I love spending time there, but I still feel like I’ve got a bit of football to give at VFL level so I didn’t want to hang them up right away.” _________________ If you are foolish enough to be contented, don't show it, but just grumble with the rest. - Jerome K Jerome |
