Here's an interesting twist on this "Up There Cazaly" topic.

In the wee small hours of last Sunday morning I was listening to an internet broadcast of the Derby County V Liverpool match. At half-time as the commentators were discussing the match I heard a song playing over the ground PA in the background. The tune was unmistakably ... you guessed it ... "Up There Cazaly".

Now, this raises the question: Why the hell is an Australian Rules Football anthem being played at a soccer match in England?
Did Brady "borrow" the tune from somewhere? Maybe it was a traditional tune that wasn't subject to copyright.
Or, more likely perhaps, did he sell the song to an advertising agency.
Call me old-fashioned if you will, but when I hear a classic song played as an advertising jingle it makes me want to puke. Fortunately, "Up There Cazaly" is a crap song anyway so I guess it doesn't really matter.

But I'm still curious to know why it was playing over the P.A. at Pride Park, Derby, last Saturday afternoon (England time).

Alf

I hope you were cheering for the Mighty Reds (not to be confused with The Red Devils or Red Scum as I call them) and not the Rams. If you are a Rams supporter, better luck next time.

Cheers

Richard

The REDS of course. Who else?

And just to prove it, I'll use a different signature this time.
