I thought Xmas day, including boxing day, were for families. Maybe not as you or your child can be forced to work under penalty of dismissal with no protection.

My work is always open on Boxing Day. I work in a shopping centre, and it's a mad house down there with the Boxing Day sales. We get lots of business!

The centre is always closed on Christmas Day and New Year's Day though Very Happy

Love always, Alyssa xoxo

BAH!!!!! I will be emailing them. I work on Boxing Day etc, and expect to be paid handsomely.

Btw, MG, not everyone works full time. ie. they are casuals and therefore have pretty much no rights, certainly not annual leave.

There should be penalty rates for working on those days.

It's a bit much for the Union to campaign for public holidays (and associated penalty rates) on Xmas, Boxing and New Year's Days PLUS the three days declared public holidays in lieu! I would have been more sympathetic if the campaign had been to ensure the penalty rates were paid on the proper days but on all six?! Surely the Union jests?

I hope our enterprise agreement has penalty rates built into it in regards to working boxing day etc.
