Post subject: Problems with EmulationReply with quote

Hey guys, i'm no good at this coputer business and have just came across an Emulator.. i've downloaded it fine, and the games run on it, but they lag heaps and the sound is all jumpy. I've asked everywhere and still haven't been able to find an answer.. i was hoping one of you may be able to help.

(oh, and don't ask what an emulator is.... if you don't know, you obviously can't help me!)

Must be a problem with the computer then. If you have tried multiple emulators, I would think that would be the reason. Not sure what else it would be.

Knowing what emulator you're running is a good start.

So is knowing your computer specs. RAM, processing power, etc.

What have you got?

Also: If you're trying to run something like MAME (or arcade games), try turning off the sound and you'll probably find stuff moving a lot better (albeit at the loss of sound).

I run emulators for a few different systems, so I "might" be abale to help.

I'm using a Nintendo64 one called 'Project64'

I'm trying to emulate many games, and none of them run properly.

Not too sure about the specs as i'm not a real computer person. I know it's a pentium 3, and it has about 128mb RAM. Sorry mate, that's all i'm able to tell you.

128mb ram probably ain't enough to run a N64 emulator. the problem isn't the emulator, it's your computer unfortunately. a friend of mine struggles to run project64 on a 256mb ram machine.

gotta remember - N64's are solid little machines, purely designed to run games. very tricky to emulate them unless you've gotta very decent computer.
