Excuse me for being cynical, but what does it actually mean? Not that I don't support the cause, I think its great that people are giving money to charity, but I just don't get the whole photo opportunity thing....

What do you mean what does it all mean?

What does SIDS day mean?

What does the Royal Children's Hospital Appeal Mean?

It's making people more aware of Breast Cancer and how it effects so many of us. Friends, mothers, sisters, aunts, cousins. So many of us are affected by it.

The $25.00 will go towards research.

Please visit the site, it may help you with your queries.

Field of Women - Live in 2005
In 2005 the Field of Women is going live for the first time. On Friday 6 May 2005 we are aiming to have 11,500 women in pink stand on the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) before the Melbourne v Adelaide football match. Come join us - make it happen.

Field of Women
Fields of Women featuring pink lady silhouettes have been planted all around Australia. In 2004 the Field consisted of 13,800 silhouettes - 11,000 bright pink silhouettes representing the women diagnosed and 100 blue silhouettes the men diagnosed with breast cancer every year. 2,700 white silhouettes represented the Australians who die every year from breast cancer.

Field of Women was the brainchild of BCNA's Founder, Lyn Swinburne. On a flight out of Canberra in 1997, she looked down at Parliament House and imagined the impact of planting thousands of bright pink silhouettes of women to signify those affected by breast cancer each year. Her idea became reality in 1998 when the first Field of Women was planted in the lawns in front of Parliament House.

Just a reminder of this event. It's being held Friday Next week and currently they only have 4,582 women registered. Which is quite a poor showing.
