One important contributor who has, so far, been overlooked by the experts is Joffa. His superb oratory from the top deck at the northern end, particularly in the first half, was nothing less than inspirational.

And despite some inhospitable treatment from the forces of law and order, who apparently didn't appreciate his candid observations on the ethics of a club selling off its guernsey to corporate interests, the J-man returned after the interval to continue the battle.

An honourable mention must also go to Tim, for a truly courageous and defiant performance, although it should be said that discretion may have been more advisable than valour when the constabulary confiscated that illegal bag of oranges.

But Tim's finest moment came outside the ground after the match, when he laid a magnificent tackle on a well-heeled opponent who seemed to take exception to the sight of a bunch of deliriously happy Magpie supporters.

This smartly suited wheeler and dealer from the corporate world, who appeared to have eaten more than his fair share of donuts, judging from his ample girth, took it upon himself to single-handedly represent the forces of respectability against this proletarian uprising of the peasant classes. Tim, however, was not intimidated. He proceeded to put donut boy to shame with some well-controlled aggression.
