Great job David. Gave me a laugh to boot with your intro.
No surprise Swanny winning. He's a champ and everyone knows it.
Who knows, next year he might win that other trivial umpires votes award medal thing.
Cheers mate.

Fantastic work David!! Unreal effort.
Congrats to Swanny.
Next year, I suggest someone keeps a tally of this at the conclusion of every round so it is not so big a task. _________________ There's more to life than footy.........just not much more. |

Thanks David a lot of work and much appreciated.
By the way, can we start thinking about the format for next year?
For what it's worth, I like nominating the top 5 players and rating them out of a possible 10. This eliminates everyone giving honourable mentions each week because of the limitations of the 3 player system. _________________ After the epic draw comes the decisive knockout!

I too didn't watch that bald-headed medal count (coz it doesn't) but loved the Brendon Fevolta "watch Me prove what a tool I am!" side-show.

You suck Dave! (sorry, just wanted to end the line of well dones )
Swanny's a worthy winner, again. And great to see Didak and Shaw both up in the top 5, coming back from disappointing seasons in '08. |

Kingswood, I've always done it the same way - counting up the votes in each post-match thread and giving the 3-2-1 to the players who receive the most each week. So, for example, in the preliminary final voting thread, Leigh Brown received 59 votes, Shaw 53, O'Bree 44, Thomas 35 and O'Brien 31... so Leroy gets the 3, Shaw the 2, and Cheesy the 1. In the very rare occasion that two players receive the same amount of votes, I give the preference to the player who received the most best-on-grounds from posters in the thread.
It's pretty time-consuming, but its quite satisfying to get it all finished. |
what difference to the result would it have made if you tallied up all votes for each player rather than distilling the top 3 for each week? _________________ Purveyor of sanctimonious twaddle. |

Could have made a difference... i.e. players who performed well in weeks where not many people gave out votes would not finish as highly. _________________ "Every time we witness an injustice and do not act, we train our character to be passive in its presence." – Julian Assange |
