Fantastic game - a real nail biter.
Let's not forget the man who helped make it all possible.
The one who NEVER quits and who kicked that ball to Tazza.
Bucks you were sensational as usual and it was great to see the boys all putting in this week and backing you up.
I can't think of anyone who didn't try their guts out this week and that's what we need - Teammanship. _________________ If you bleed black and white you'll never walk alone. |

Right, we beat Adelaide, through shear determination, courage, spirit and pride, and it was an Away match. Now lets do it again this Saturday against Wet Toast at HOME. Lets give those Weagles the welcome they deserve, those West Australian upstarts. "Oh Look at me, im from Perth thank you very much. Im still swimming at the beach every morning, and drinking my Martinis." I dont know whos worse, the Weagles or the Swans. GRRR UP THE MIGHTY MAGPIES!!!!!!! _________________ ASCSA - Alice Springs Collingwood Supporters association - President and sole member |

Fantastic performace. I'll admit I was shocked and displeased with how MM dropped certain players. But again he supprised me and did a great job. |

As Mr J and I were at the other end of the ground , it took some time to get through the crowd to join in the circle....but we could hear you guys on our walk around the ground. Interesting that while walking all we could hear from the crows supporters was........tarrant, tarrant tarrant tarrant! _________________ Kaylene.

It was a fantastic win, very stirring stuff indeed.
I was at a pub that normally doesn't have too many people interested in the footy - well, Saturday night it was pumping! I led the crowd in the mighty Pies' song, and all night was getting people coming up to me, hugging and high-5ing! It was a great atmosphere!
Top performance by Woey (where are the Woey knockers now, huh?!), Chrissy, Brodie (great stuff, in defence) and of course the Magnificent Nath - how many more clearances could he get out of the centre in that last quarter?!!!
I'm still on a high today - people keep coming into my office congratulating me (as if I actually played the game! LOL) _________________ "I'm sure people see me as a screaming redhead with a big pair of boobs, but I like to think I've got things to say." Geri Halliwell, former member of the Spice Girls. |

Absolutely brilliant! What a way to win the game, suffer crows, suffer. Was it a point? If there is a God it was. I'm with you Joel was jumping around the house with joy, first time I have gone hoarse when I wasn't at the game. After the first few minutes I thought the umpires are gonna have it in for us today, but was fair enough at the end.
Thought we were gone more than once, probably three or four times, but the boys just never gave up and it may be the game that turns it around for 2003. For once we had some luck with the our kicking, 18.6, seems like ages since we've been so accurate, the one that Pebbles got was great.
For all the bagging we give to robert walls, I did hear him on 3AW yesterday talking about his flight back to Melbourne on the same plane as our boys. He stated that there was no raucous behaviour and that no-one was openly celebrating the great win, just showing a steely resolve. He said that he thought this showed how professional they are and that obviously MM has them well in control and that they would follow him anywhere.
Puts us back on track and probably only one game down on where I thought we realistically might have been.
Oh yeah just want to add that Molly's toughnes is a genuine asset. Guy gets his nose broken and still comes back on the ground and runs head first into everything. One other thing I noted while watching it on TV, the 1/4 time "game notes" indicated "Tarrant - No Impact". Well that's hardly surprising if the ball doesn't venture to the forward line, stupid. Changed after the first 1/4 though, didn't it. _________________ Go Pies!

Ditto to everything already said about that magnificent win.
Just wanted to reinforce some comments already made about Cole - his tackling was absolutely ferocious and really added something to the side. We could have our own Byron Pickett! Rhyce Shaw's pace also stood out at times...he should become a regular.
Well done Pies! |

Yeah Culprit - it was about time - if we played like that every week we would make the top 4. Anyways well done to the team a great fighting effort - i hope they can keep playing like that. I was one of the ones listening on news radio abc and they cut to the news at 10pm, by the time i found the broadcast on another station the pies had kicked 5 straight, i nearly had a heart attack. the when tarrant marked and goaled the silence was bliss. I have always said Tazza would be a champ and he looks like delivering his potential.

What a match! I would have enjoyed seeing our boys play regardless of the result but it was well and truly worth the trip over. There were a few times I thought it was going to be almost impossible for us to get back into the game after the Crows broke away but the boys never gave up and definitely deserved their gutsy win. It was a real team effort which was great to see and with the form Tazz is in so far this season, it was fitting that he had the opportunity to kick the winning goal. He still looked nervous when they interviewed him after the game but it must have felt great!
There were guys who really shone in this match but at the same time, guys who didn’t get as many touches still worked their butts off for the entire match. Woey showed his class while Bucks and Lica never stopped running all night. O’Bree got plenty of the ball – he made a few errors but his good work well and truly made up for it. Burnsy always works so hard and was fantastic around the stoppages. Even when Tarrant isn’t kicking goals he’s running, leading, tackling and fighting to keep the ball in the forward line – he’s really on fire.
Didak did some good things and worked hard – he’s a guy that can change a game off his own boot but has been struggling a bit with consistency. Holland was a great surprise and did a great job of running the ball out of the backline and his work in the centre was also a bonus – he also needs to put a few consistent games together to cement his place in the team. Shaw has really stepped up this season and deserves his place in the team – his speed around the ground is exactly what we need. Rocca worked hard and although McKee was beaten in the ruck his second efforts and never-give-up attitude were fantastic. Two guys who prove that stats don’t always show real effort were Cole and Molloy. Cole’s tackling was excellent and even after his heavy bump Molly kept working hard and putting his body on the line.
Fraser didn’t get a lot of game time but is looking good when he is on the ground and is always dangerous around the goals. It was a tough night on the backline but guys like Clemo, Presti, Lokan, Lonie and Wakelin worked hard and never gave up. Johno’s speed and the effort he puts in is great but I think he needs to work on his skill level a bit more. Williams didn’t get a lot of game time. And unfortunately for Scotland, the few times he was on he made a couple of errors that really didn’t show the good player he is. I think he needs more game time in the seniors to really shine but that’s going to be difficult when other guys in a similar position are also stepping up.
A great never-say-die team effort that will give us back some of the confidence we lost over the last few weeks. We’re a much better team than our current form has shown and some solid wins over the next few rounds will show that.
I much prefer an easy 100 point win but AFTER the game, a win with a kick after the siren is awesome stuff!

Bloody terrific.
Got me pumped for this weeks game at the DO ME.
The commitment for the ball at ground level was what got us home. Burnsy and co would have grass burns on their knees from sliding into packs to retrieve the ball.
That passage of play at the end. To get the ball to Bucks, and for Bucks to find Tazza was bliss. A magic moment if ever there was one. _________________ Scooby Doo says "I've been to Lexus too." |

I have now officially calmed down.
No no, it's okay, I'm okay.
It's all good. I can't stop smiling.
I was at the All Star at Crown Casino going absolutely ballistic for the whole game. Then i was in the rendition of the song at least five times.
A grotty little place Crown Casino, but on Saturday night it was my heaven-and thanks to All Star for at least showcasing this game with volume over the Rugbly and Saints/Blues match.
I think I am going to marry my magpie mascot. I had sex with it on Saturday night.
Not really.
Millane42, I just can't help it. . .A five line comment when we pull off an almighty win, and a barrage of countless paragraphs including a completely separate topic when we lose.
I see that you have written that when Tazza goaled 'the silence was bliss'...dare I say my magpie friend, when we have another unfortunate game somewhere down the track-your silence will also be very, very blissful. _________________ It was love at first sight. |
