Tottenham Hotspur set to offer $15m to snare star striker Mark Viduka.
(herald sun 9/5/03)

Well its interesting, Hoddle is willing to use 80% of his budget to get him. Hopefully he will be successful as we need another quality striker, and with a stiker like him we can challenge for the Champions league.

Also having an Aussie playing for us will bring alot more exposure to spurs here in Australia especially here in Melbourne as Viduka is from Melbourne.

If we can snare him i dont really care about losing Carr, or if we do get him it might get Carr to stay put as our team would be alot stronger!

I dont think its a matter of him wanting to leave, im pretty sure he wants to stay, but Leeds are $150m in debt and wiping a tenth out of that debt by selling one player would make life a bit easier!

Sounds like the Western Bulldogs of the English Premier League.

Leeds went on a signing spree and got players like Rio Ferdinand (now at man u) a while ago. They built up quite a good team but very expensive. This team they thought would get them to the Champions League which is where the big dollars are made. However they never made the Champions League and didn't have any titles to show for their dollars spent.

The problem is now they need to sell their players to clear up their debt. Some players no doubt will be sold at a loss and they will get cheaper players. However this is a big risk as they only just avoided relegation this year.....lol
