Post subject: The World is fascinated by Dane Swan | |
|
Actually a pretty good article on Swanny by Mark Robinson.
Quote: | DANE Swan was a nobody when he and a couple of mates touched up a security guard at Federation Square in 2003.
It was act of delinquency that caused pain and hurt.
Now Swan is a somebody, a Brownlow medallist, three-time Copeland Trophy winner and a premiership player.
The road from nobody to somebody has been one of the more impressive journeys for a player in the AFL, although it's safe to say the laid-back and likeable Swan would still like to be a nobody in a somebody's world.
He is a rare bird, Dane Swan.
A knockabout who loves a drink, the nightlife and whatever else that may tickle his fancy, Swan still plays footy at unbelievable levels of speed and endurance and leather-poisoning.
If you believe rumours, and there are hundreds of them, Swan is Ben Cousins Mark II, a player whose behaviour is of major concern who, finally this off-season, realised he had to pull his head in.
If you believe those who know him, Swan is nothing of the sort.
"Dane Swan has not changed one bit from when he was a 17-year-old lad," his manager, Liam Pickering, says. |

It's good that Robbo wrote that article, apart from the fact that one of them has an immense talent on the football field Swanny and Robbo aren't that different.
Nice article, Swanny is set to explode tomorrow, just you wait and see. |

47 possessions & 4 goals before being subbed off halfway through the third to keep him fresh for the Scum. _________________ I hold a cup of wisdom, but there is nothing within. |

Note the article in The Age on Thursday alleging Buddy turning up incoherent and disorented at the Gran Prix.
Imagine if that had been Dane... |

He was in a tent with Demitripoo and other noteables including Eddie i believe..... he's a protected species.... Particularly now that he'll be assisting Dimi with boosting the games profile in the West of Syd.
I noticed too that WSW in the A-League are flying and their crowds are huge.... Dimi would be wanting party boy up there very quickly now that his fertile market is being infiltrated...... _________________ Beware the swooping Magpie. |

Lol. I've heard he's big in Mozambique, though.
Methinks 'Robbo' or his long-suffering sub-editors should have titled his piece "Why a handful of Melbourne-based hack newspaper columnists are fascinated by Dane Swan". Might have been a little closer to the mark. _________________ "Every time we witness an injustice and do not act, we train our character to be passive in its presence." – Julian Assange |

Lol David,
Swanny has a HUGE following in parts of Africa. I hear that tats are all the rage now in the Kalahari and the tourists are now favouring the number 36 to the Daktari pants for the first time in 25 years!!! _________________ Fighting against the objectification of woman. |
