Having watch England being outplayed so far in the test matches I was wondering who you'd drop and bring into the England side. I thought Vaughn would've been a great captain because he did so well in the ODI's but test cricket is a different game.

Mind you, it's still early days. England won the series last time these two teams met and the first two test's went about the same way.
I'd drop Giles and give Kirtley his first test match. Drop Hassan and Silanky in (not sure on spelling his name LOL) Thorpe in for McGrath also.
Silanky can apparently bowl spin and anythings got to be better than Giles piss poor efforts.

Stewart has to go or make him retire. The main problem is that they dont know how to build an innings. Every field trap Sth Africa set England fall for. Its just too funny to watch. Vaughan, Hussain and Butcher should be embarrassed by their dismissals.

Gough's 1/215 in the two Tests makes him one of the first under the microscope but the word is he'll retire from Tests anyway. He's not regained his zip and will now be seen as a handy ODI bowler.

Stewart may not be allowed to retire gracefully at the end of this series. He had a shocker and the selectors need to bite the bullet and bring Read in.

Giles is a defensive spinner and just not up to it but do they have anyone else without going back to someone like Croft who is still taking wickets and scoring runs in County cricket ?

Thorpe must come back in, probably for mcGrath, and Kirtley and Johnson would be eyeing off Gough's and Anderson's spots.

Hussain may get one more chance.

Anderson will stay, Ormond is the bloke they should look to bring in. Harmison is a dud....until he can bowl a consistent line and length, he shouldnt play.

Donny, Giles is a dud, but Croft is an uber-dud. hasnt turned a ball since Bitchmond won a flag. Think about it. I'd play the extra quick, and Vaughn can roll his arm over.

yes, I agree Dave. My comment about Croft was to highlight the 'bare cupboard' when it comes to English spinners.

Oh for a Deadly Derek.

All spinners for England have been defensive bowlers in recent years. Im trying to think of their recent spinner who didnt even spin the ball it was more medium pace...lol
