Carrrrlton's Dr's have examined his ankle, done their due diligence. They aren't stupid. Thomas is a match-winner.
He will complement their team.
Betts will be a loss.
If they pick up Chappie then it will be for very little expense. He's shown how good he is.
Either or both Thomas & Chapman may succumb to injury. If they don't other teams need to watch out.
THis year, they were close to the 8 before being gifted a place. They won a final, we didn't. |
I think this us where your argument falls over. |

^^^^ Is it an actual photograph or just photo-shopped? I would have expected that the flesh on his upper body might have putrefied where it came into contact with that monstrosity. |

Not always the answer - but history shows the right blend of experience and youth can work well.
The intangibles that a professional experienced new comer brings to a club (E.g Luke Ball) are also worth considering |
Yep, but their list can't take them to the big dance in the next 2 years. _________________ One team, one dream - the Pies and this year's premiership |

Now I have heard it all. WPT now being referred to as Scum.
There are many things that WPT and I do not see eye to eye on but to suggest he is a Carlscum supporter is insulting and ludicrous.
Yes, Member. I've just seen this. It saddens me to see WPT referred to in this way.
Have managed to lose the guy who has probably been an AFL top 3 small forward of the past 5 years in Betts - as measured by goals and score involvement.
Up for trade are their first round picks from recent years - Josh Bootsma and Kane Lucas. Matthew Watson hasn't come on as they had hoped and can't get a game.
Paid overs for Daisy Thomas in an effort to revitialise a midfield which has Marc Murphy who has longevity but Judd, Carrazzo, McLean, Simpson who are all pushing it age wise.
Don't have a lot of quality young key position players (maybe Henderson) seemingly either.
Enter the draft this year after we'll have likely had 2 picks.
Mick's new club will be in serious trouble in 2 years time. |
They haven't won a legitimate flag in 25 years!
Can't get much uglier than that and it isn't looking good for the next 25 years either! _________________ "If it wasn't for Dave O'D, I wouldn't have kicked half my goals!" Dick Lee |

Most Carl supporters want MM to recruit like a team that finished just outside the TOP 4 - when they should be realistic and plan like they finished 9th.
With the number of young guys on the trade table and the talk about the 'seniors" their looking to recruit, MM is siding with the delusional supporters.
Big mistake - HUGE |

Not a bad tactic. I simply cant see anyone competing with Gold coast or GWS once their team comes of age. |
Exactly, Malthouse wasn't employed to patiently craft a premiership team. He was employed to deliver a premiership before Judd retires. Carlton has laid it all on the table and asked Mick to deliver immediately. Given this scenario Thomas is a very good buy. Buckley has been asked to build a machine. Paying Thomas $700,000 doesn't fit into this long term perspective. _________________ Be Staunch, Be Proud, Be Collingwood |

The pies are building a quality young list surrounded by premiership/elite players, if we get adams pick 10 and 11 look out.
Cartoon have a shit list with a ton of aging players.. **** them, I would like nothing more than to see the tooners go all out on Pod, Chappy add in Del Santo and anyone else they can get at the expense of doing the hard yards recruiting quality blokes/players and developing them..
They are soo $$%^%%$ arrogant it actually makes them stupid.. literally. They are Waite and Judd away from a wooden spoon
I am confident Dale will add some wood to his collection other than micks.. |

Unfortunately for Bucks, he was given a machine in very good working order at end of 2011, only to have many of the critical functional parts break down out of warranty in the ensuing 24 months.
We'll be looking for quite a while to replace those parts, in order to have the machine running again like it was in 2010-2011.
Carlton are simply re-arranging the deckchairs on The Titanic.
