Lets hope England deliver the knock out blow tonight as Sth Africa make a habit out of getting out of tight situations with their tail wagging.

The tail wagged, to a degree, but the damage was done early when McKenzie(11), Pollock(0) and Hall(0) were dismissed.
Boucher(52) and Adams(15) added 45 and raised SA's slim hopes but the Test debutant, James Kirtley, dismissed both to see England home by 70 runs.
Kirtley took 6/34 and 8/114 for the match. He was named Man of the Match. _________________ Donny.

Vaughan: 'The best match of my career'
Wisden CricInfo staff - August 18, 2003
Michael Vaughan: "This is the best match of my career. Now we have to build on this performance starting at Headingley on Thursday. For James [Kirtley] to bowl like he did on debut was fantastic, but the game was set up for us by Nasser and Butch's hundreds. I thought we bowled superbly last night. We exploited the conditions really well and we did it again today."
Graeme Smith: "A lot has been said about the pitch and I don't need to say anything more. The fact is that England batted well on the first day and that's where they won the game. Shaun Pollock (who will miss the fourth Test) is a world class cricketer but there are a lot of guys who are ready to step up to the plate and take their chance."
Man of the match James Kirtley, who took 6 for 34 in the second innings: "I've been dreaming about this, and it's nice to do it at Trent Bridge where the support's so strong. The team's performing brilliantly so hopefully we'll have a repeat win at Headingley. The instructions this morning were very simple - to keep hitting the right areas and luckily the wickets came for me."
Nasser Hussain: "Michael [Vaughan] is already a better captain than he was two or three weeks ago. The sooner England move on and win away from the Nasser Hussain era the better it will be. Even though I'm no longer captain I felt just the same as ever — I woke up at five this morning feeling nervous and wishing we could win." _________________ Donny.

Hahaha what a ripper test the Poms fought back and showed some true character to level the series.
A very good effort considering neither Vaughan or Trescothick are in form yet.

My apologies to England. I said in another thred they should be playing at a lower level of cricket down with Bangladesh.
I still think they should be there. My apology is for South Africa, they should be down with them too. _________________ Do I look like the tech? |

It just proves the point I made a few months ago - no other team is within cooee of the Aussies. We may be a good team, but we are not great, just everyone else is pathetic! Prime examples being England and South Africa. _________________ "I'm sure people see me as a screaming redhead with a big pair of boobs, but I like to think I've got things to say."
