In: Ball, Swan, Dwyer
Out: Sidebottom, Maxwell, Adams
Adams the obvious omission with Ball back. Ball, Swan, Dwyer all good ins.
A good call to go with one ruck, will be a good chance to see how White goes as backup. Interesting though that the one ruck is Witts. Has he gone past Grundy, or are we just giving him an opportunity? _________________ Well done boys! |

Maybe Grundy's back is a bit worse than we have been led to believe. _________________ I hold a cup of wisdom, but there is nothing within. |

Still half a season to go plus finals so I think we're just easing the load on Grundy now with the side benefit of giving Witts more opportunity as our main ruck option.
As far as actual tap work to advantage goes it's pretty even between Grundy and Witts with Witts if anything slightly in front.
Grundy gets the nod in terms of work around the ground and second efforts at ruck contests while Witts has shown a little more as a forward IMO though neither have shown enough at present in that role to warrant us going with a two ruck setup. _________________ He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD! |

At this stage it seems to me that Witts is a better ruckman. Grundy gives away too many frees, often in front of goal, and Witts seems to me a better tap ruckman. Neither are great at taking overhead marks, and both are ok at ground level - though Grundy may have the edge there, one or two extra clearances do not make up for the other things that give big Jarrod the edge. I hope there is a place for both, as both are exciting prospects as they mature. Maturity may also make one far better than the other, of course. I recall a time, ca 2010, when I thought Sidebottom was a coming megastar star and Beams a good player. Now both are excellent, but Beams is slightly superior... Time will tell. _________________ Two more flags before I die! |

If Frawley plays forward who will play on Cloke? Chalet or Christian Slalom? _________________ Magpies love pies(Lol) |

I think Grundy is the better tap ruckman of the two. Witts has very little leap & centre bounces & still gets pushed around a bit. Needs a few more KG's on him. Other than that there is not much between them. |

I think Grundy as a way bigger Upside then Witts.
As you say Witts hardly leaves the Ground and he is a bit of Slow Plodder around the Ground _________________ I am Da Man |

Not sure who has the bigger future. Witts has better skills and is a giant, but Grundy goes in hard and is more mobile. Will be interesting to see. _________________ Well done boys! |
