Actually, yes, the best game I've seen Grundy play, I thought. Crap kicking, but he got a fair bit of it in a contested marking situation. Still gives away stupid frees, but he might have the makings of a class forward if Witts can hold down the ruck spot. |

Sorry to tell you Dave but your viewed might be little biased here its like comparing Adams to Caddy or JT -- need to look at it a little bit more objectively

I'm struggling to see how we fit Maxwell back in the side to be honest with Seedsman returning and Young hitting top form. _________________ He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD! |

very pleased to see they got the job done against a boringly effective defensively oriented game from the old money
they just wanted to pinch it in the last ten minutes but they were never going to get those four goals after the patient construction of the lead
in fact we got one instead for interest
now for the doggys hey? before an acid test against the sqwarks.. _________________ woodsmen rule |

Geezuz, I'm glad I don't support them. |
And their 1st goal was in the first 20 seconds of the game!!! |
Oh, but its all part of the Roos cheap shot negativity game plan, that he honed to perfection about ten years ago. _________________ Poverty exists not because we cannot feed the poor, but because we cannot satisfy the rich.

What an ugly frustrating game that was.
We got the 4 points - tick
Kept the opposition to three goals - tick
Our opposition received 5 free kicks - tick
Unheard of. Has that ever happened before?
The umpires would have to do that every game for decade before I would say the umpiring had evened up!
I thought Young was much improved.
Love watching Frosty out there. A gun in the making.
Cloke - I know it is treacherous to even breathe this, but, I think he has very poor decision making. Let alone goal kicking ability.... very sorry to say. Yes, it was a dour game plan from Roos and a few of our boys had a bad day... but still something is amiss there.
A win is a win. Bring on the Bulldogs.
The season is starting to look very interesting

Our backline is too inexperienced not to have him.
Come up against the Hawks with that backline they will get killed. Not sure who we take out but we need him as a leader down back for the big games and for him to be the third man up |

Horrid game to sit through, like watching bloody soccer!
Poor ol Trav had a full moon game.
Caff was fantastic, really shining through, the new position really needed in.
Watching PENDLES amazes me, there were 2 times he was caught in the middle of a bunch of players, all that frenzy hand passing, but not PENDLES, time stood still matrix style, he looked around, did his little dance, and calmly got the ball outta there!
But the highlight for me by far, was watching Seedsman, streaming down the centre, dodges 1 player, sees another coming, and puts his foot down like he's on Conrod straight, OMG, the acceleration he has!
I swear he's PENDLES love child, he's just so like him.
Now bring on the doggies, Go Pies! _________________ You cant fix stupid, turns out you cant quarantine it either! |

I actually feel Cloke worked his butt off and built up as we got into the game he gained a lot of confidence.

We bloody won, so I'm not that worried that they play a game that isn't particularly attractive. And we wont have to worry about watching it again this year.
However the bloke is a Premiership Coach so I'm tipping he knows a bit more about the caper than some of the peanuts on here.
They stayed with us for 3.5 quarters and because it was so low scoring, a 5 min burst and a few goals and they could have swung the game.
They also pushed Port all the way who are 2 games clear on top.
Every good side is built on a foundation of defence. He inherited a basket case and he has to teach them a basic game plan before it can get more fancy. I reckon there is more upside to Melbourne than several other teams at the moment. Richmond for one.
Lay of Paul Roos. He's alright! |
Vitriol? I think not. Nothing against Roosy personally. It's just that his style of coaching does nothing for the advancement of the AFL. It is mind-numbingly boring. Successful? At Sydney, yes. At Melbourne? Time will tell. 3 goals in an entire game is pathetic. Fun to watch? No.
Sydney are a miles better team since his departure. _________________ President - Coffs Harbour Collingwood Supporters Assoc. Inc. |

Sorry, Dave - you were right and I was wrong -I'm so used to seeing them, that I saw them when they were not there !! It was a good game from the big fella. Still does the odd unco thing, but i watched the replay and didn't see a free. That's progress ! _________________ Two more flags before I die! |

He definitely can't grip in the tackle at the moment, so still the wrists??
(Not to be confused with not being able to grip the tackle, which is a far more serious complaint ). _________________ In the end the rain comes down, washes clean the streets of a blue sky town.

Agreed I think Cloke's work rate was great, but has to sit just on the the 50 metre and not push up so much. I knew one on one he could beat Dunn and ihe did when it counted. I cant believe Fox Footy gave Dunn 3 votes saw it after the game. Me and BBHS nearly spat out our beers over Robbie Flower! _________________ " Ohhh Banksy and out comes the Note Book".
