surely we should celebrate this win for at least one night (like the players) before turning our attention to Essendon...... _________________ Ohhh, the Premiership's a cakewalk ....... |

Outs: Gault, Karnezis
Ins: Witts, Adams
I'd also love to drop Goldsack and bring in Moore, but I can't see that happening.
It's no surprise to me that we kicked a big score with a 3 pronged tall forward line. This is a must imo. Against the Bombers we should have Cloke, Witts and White. I'd like to keep Karnezis in the side, but I can't find someone else to drop. |

Varcoe to go 4 for 4.
My tip is Heppel in the second. |

We used to do that (start the Pre match thread on Tuesdays) but a certain few Nickheads would trip over each other to start naming ins and outs for the next match, shortly after the finish of the one just played.
Celebrate the win all you like, E, in the Post match topic. _________________ Donny.

Going to be hard impressing this week in the VFL in a cold and wet Ballarat.
Despite the performance tonight still like the idea of Moore and Freeman/De Goey debuting to give us that extra level of excitment and enthusiasm against a team in Essendon who are a galvanised unit and playing with real spirit at present.
Let's see how they go this Sunday. _________________ He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD! |

Gault stays.
White, though, should be moved on as soon as possible (but I'm not holding my breath). In the second quarter, the team had about 435 inside 50s and he touched the ball twice. I do not understand how he can continue to get so far away from the contest for huge periods of the game, especially when the midfield is so dominant. |

We need Witts in there to help Grundy out in the ruck otherwise where going down the same path as what we did to Josh Fraser. Burn his body out to quickly
Out: Patrick K, Cory G, Blair
In: Adams, Witts, Freeman or De Goey
I still have my doubts about Blair I would rather play Freeman or De Goey |

agree, gault should stay. one thing i did not look for is whether white took an opponent out of the forward 50 and created space for the others.
i did like how we were able to have all of gault, white and grundy covering the ruck. this meant grundy did not have to ruck all night. _________________ Purveyor of sanctimonious twaddle. |

JW, I agree that Grundy needs a chop out so he doesn't have to ruck all game. Gault was reasonably competitive at that but I don't think White exerts any physical presence at all - and there was a period early in the game where the 'Aints got several easy centre clearances while he was playing on ball. If Witts is fit enough, I would like to see him be given a chance next week - I know he's recovering from an interrupted pre-season but he is essential to team balance going forward, I think. |
