This is probably going to be a short lived idea but would players benefit from shooting for goals with a blindfold on or an eyepatch ? There is definitely something spooky watching some unbelievable errors that occur from set shots that should be bread and butter for these professional athletes.
i don't propose that they should play with an eyepatch on or a blindfold. I just think that the inner body experience might add to their awareness.
Now for the laughs ! |

While the blindfolds on they should be spun around quickly 10 times and then forced to kick within 15 seconds. _________________ Living in Geelong, barracking for the 'pies! |

I had a problem in golf where my practice swings would be perfect and then I'd address the ball and shank it. I once was so annoyed that I played a hole with my eyes closed. Result - BIRDIE!
There is merit in the idea. _________________ Ohhh, the Premiership's a cakewalk ....... |

What a great marketing idea for the Club!! A club blidfold for when Cloke is having a set shot!! _________________ Don't confuse your current path with your final destination. Just because it's dark and stormy now doesn't meant that you aren't headed for glorious sunshine! |

Err ... my good friend Lazza suggests that what we really need is a blidfold. Quite right. I've always wanted a good blidfold. _________________ Let's eat Grandma. Commas save lives! |

I saw a study on doing free throws in basketball where one group practiced, one group did "positive imagery" where they imagined shooting free throws and one group did nothing.
Both the practice and imagery groups performed at similar levels. Maybe Cloke needs to spend some time every day just imagining kicking goal after goal. |

of course you heard about the Vietnam POW who had never played golf but to get himself through the tortuous days of starvation, he would imagine himself playing golf every day.
On his return, he decided to take up golf and was almost immediately a scratch golfer.
A lot of research has been done on the ability of the mind to train muscles without the muscles actually working. It seems to be something real.
PS: why no thread this week complementing Cloke for being completely rock solid with his set shots this week?????? _________________ Ohhh, the Premiership's a cakewalk ....... |
