Saw Fas in the first half of the reserves game. Played really well up to that point and may have been taken off to rest him should they have required an emergency in the seniors. He is hitting great form and should definitely be considered for the seniors. _________________ Don't confuse your current path with your final destination. Yeah, he was taken off to be the emergency for the main game. He's definitely put his head down and worked his butt off since being dropped, so is a big chance to get a recall this week, along with Kennedy, who was BOG in the VFL imo. |

Yeah, Fas worked a lot harder defensively against the Tiges than he had the previous week which is pleasing to see. |

Well let's see him do it for a few weeks in a row (bye exluded) before gifting him another senior game, he needs to realize the next chance he gets could possibly be his last. _________________ Defender...........

If Pendles is out then I'm very concerned. He and been absolutely inspirational this season even getting back in defence to help where he can and be a voice for the younger brigade.
Sidey hasn't played for 6 weeks we were told he was 6-8 weeks so this would be the best result. Just can't see us risking him really unless we are hit hard with injuries including Pendles.
Witts Grundy White just doesn't work. Maybe give Gault a game he offers more forward than Witts and let White pinch hit in the ruck. Grundy works well all over the ground maybe let him rest forward at times.
Toovey out leaves a hole in experience down back. Would kill to have Reid back but that's not going to happen.
Ramsay seems a logical like for like in depending on injury and form.
PK will get a rest maybe Fas gets a gig because if Pendles is out Elliott might be needed in the mids more so we need a another goal kicker.
Be interesting selection this week. |

Witts is a Number 1 Ruckman and does not play the 2nd Ruck very well as he is Too Slow and gets run off to easy _________________ I am Da Man |

Karnezis will be dropped. Sidebottom to return. Toovey is 50:50 but hopefully Ramsay can return. No one else deserves an AFL game. Kennedy and Fasolo the closest _________________ Daicos, impossible angle ... Goal! |

This seems illogical; to me. Not what you said, but what other people seem to be saying which is almost what you said. Here we are worrying about Sidebottom's ability (if he plays) to come in and make an impact after six weeks out, but perfectly happy to contemplate Ramsey coming back after two weeks off. The thing is, Sidebottom has 100-odd games behind him. We can expect experienced senior players to come back in and put on a solid performance. We don't expect 30+ possies and BOG first up, but a good, reliable 20-odd and despite the odd fumble, a useful contribution. And I reckon that's fair enough. In general, players with 100-odd behind them can come straight back in and go OK.
Ramsey, however, has about six games total. It is quite unreasonable to expect him to play well v the Suns (if selected) and perfectly reasonable to expect his worst performance in a senior side. Under any normal circumstances, you'd want Ramsey to play a week in the reserves first.
Sadly, we don't have anyone much else to fill in, and in any case the ressies have a bye. So we can select a Marsh or an Armstrong instead, or else throw poor Ramsey straight back into the deep end and cross our bloody fingers that he goes better than we have any right to expect.

Please, please Collingwood, stop selecting Elliott as a bloody midfielder! Yes, he does OK (not great, just OK) in the middle, but we really, really need class up forward and until Broomhead gets his game together or Peter Daicos pulls on the boots again, Elliott is it. Why, why, why lose our only A-grade forward in exchange for a good C-grade midfielder? It's beyond stupid. WTF? Let's play Frost at full forward and Swanny in the ruck while we are at it.
Fasolo is perfectly capable of booting three good ones this week. Yep, I'd delist him at the end of the season 'coz he is too one-dimensional and his form is just as dependable as Cloke's kicking, but in the meantime we are players short and Fas might just gift us one of his cameos. It's not as if we'd be leaving anyone good out to make room for him. _________________ Let's eat Grandma. Commas save lives! |

if witts has those deficiencies as a 2nd ruck, how does it stand to reason that he can be an effective 1st ruck? _________________ Purveyor of sanctimonious twaddle. |

Wittsy is a baby in ruckman terms, they develop much longer, give him time, he will be a future sandilands, mark my words folks. _________________ Poverty exists not because we cannot feed the poor, but because we cannot satisfy the rich.

I thought Sidebottom was ruled out for a return for at least another week sadly.
On another topic, the one thing that I keep thinking about as a result of last week's match against Richmond was the way we got smashed in the centre clearances in the last quarter courtesy of Martin and Cotchin.
I'm sure Buckley and his assistant coaches have identified this problem from last week and will do everything it can to atone for it because he absolutely killed us in the end when the game was on the line on Sunday and we can't repeat such a performance if the game is on the line again this week in the final quarter for example. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023 | |

Keep Witts and Grundy together.
Play Grundy as a midfielder at times.
Strange but he can play that role I believe. _________________ we don't eat our own at collingwood we just allow them to foul our nest. |

Great call
Footy is now about physical strength, we have lost the last two in part due to our inability to stop momentum and HALT the ball carrier ( our tackles havent stuck)
in the 30 s the following players were used Collier ,Dyer,50s Barrassi,70s bull richardson , 80s Ayres heck even guys like riccutto were beasts hawks play roughy as well and Freo have 2 ruck rovers.
therefore in the future i would like Marsh,Grundy ,Abbott to play these spots with White
rucks Cox and witts
or we offer Blicavs 1.2 over 3 years _________________ always remember who you represent |
