speaking of eggs, I just made myself a nice Good Friday brunch.
Boerewors sausage, bacon, eggs, baked beans and toast, with a cup of tea and some tomato juice.

When I lived in Caulfield North I made a point of walking around the park eating a couple of ham sandwiches and a couple of beers, A mate who used to meet me there asked me what I was doing. I just said pissing off every religion I could at the same time. _________________ Annoying opposition supporters since 1967. |

And when Kennett tried to take public holidays off Victorians the Federal government stepped in awarded those days to Federal employees. The CFMEU etc had them put in awards. So basically state run enterprises were running services for no one. Small businesses like cafes etc around precincts like Spring Street shut down as well so in effect it was counter productive. Not going to happen.
Queens birthday is a more likely target but given there is a big break to next one probably not. Labour is a target but is a money spinner for tourism.
The Government that takes away easter loses the next election. They would lose every seat on the Mornington Peninsula, Gippsland lakes,Eildon weir and snowfields and the great ocean road. |
Correct! |
No. While local business owners (who profit from the influx of out-of-towners on Easter long weekend) would object to the govt. of the day that took away the public holidays, the great number of voters in those electorates are retirees, tree-changers, sea-changers etc. They would rejoice in seeing the end of the hords of Melbournians who descend on their tranquil retreats at Easter, bringing with them road congestion, drugs and increased violence, and leave behind their rubbish which they, as rate-payers, have to fund the clean-up of via their local councils.
So, the govt. that takes away easter would win every seat on the Mornington Peninsula, Gippsland lakes, Eildon weir and snowfields and the great ocean road. |
This is a time for these people to see their kids and Grandkids and friends. . Also the xouncils won't bother providing services used by these people all the time. If it wasn't for tourists there wouldn't be the cafes, bakeries and quaint shops that brought them there in the first place. _________________ Annoying opposition supporters since 1967. |

Nope, been a great day. Only just got home in time for the Soccer and then the cricket is on shortly, no shortage of things to do today and watch tonight. Screw the footy, hell there was a game last night and I think I saw 2 minutes of the entire game... |

Ditto!
Gym, did some work on eldests car in preparation to sell, made veggie soup, did some googling for the USA holiday, watched junior clean the dishes after hubby cooked dinner, eldest went to her BFs place, junior is out celebrating an 18th, (ferals) hubby went to the speedway with his brother, I'm home alone, two dogs and me stretched out on the bed watching back to back episodes of The Last Ship, and playing games on my iPad! Next add I'll get me a jimmy and coke! Cheers! Happy Easter! _________________ You cant fix stupid, turns out you cant quarantine it either! |

Painted the skirting boards, put up a hoist in the garage for the roof pod and removed an annoying shrub from the garden. Then rearranged furniture in the house.
Am knackered, but nice to know I have 3 free days to rest up.
