With Carlton getting handouts from other clubs there should be an investigation by the AFL.
Something is not right.
Have a look who they get rid of and get. geez pick 51 for Hartford, Pick 34 for Scottland. Unbelievable.
Must be money going under the table. |

To me the answer is simple.
STOP ALL FINANCIAL HELP THAT WE GIVE TO OTHER CLUBS.
Why the f*** should we bother helping clubs when we just get kicked in the guts. Lets worry about Collingwood and only Collingwood.
Bye bye bye Balmeeeeeee

Agree Culp.
Could not believe the Scotland 'trade', even Essendon have done the right thing by them and am absolutely staggered by the McKernan one. |

It's what we got and didn't get
Obviously you're not aware of the big statements that were made pre-draft |

That we didnit get Stevens can be put down to Port's bloody mindedness. That they got nothing for Stevens is some payback. As well in any future trade negotiations unless it is clearly to Collingwood's advantage, Port should be given a not interested. That is no goodwill whatsoever should be assumed from or given to Port.
Scotland was pure ineptitude. Even if no one else was willing to do better, Collingwood had nothing to lose by holding on to him for another year as insurance against injury etc. Sure he would have been out of contract by then but so was Nick Davis + we got 20 something for him. _________________ Beware the embrace of the collingwood python |

So how are Carlton paying for all these players they picked up - or are they paying them $20,000 each a year?!?!?! And how on earth are they going to fit Stevens into their salary cap? In fact, how many players do they now have on their list and what's the maximum? All things navy blue seem a bit fishy to me!
GO PIES!

I think Max Stevens is driving a brand new Alfa Romeo today courtesy of a Lygon St car dealer. He paid with it with money from a brown paper bag....
Yes this is not true. I made it up.
Port, Carlton has bent you over a chair.... |

Port are now trying to back pedal by suggesting that Collingwood and Nick Stevens tried to manipulate the draft. They are hoping he would get deregistered and therefore remain a Port player for next year and then try and do a deal to get something for him. If anyone manipulated the draft it was Bulldogs and Hawthorn.
What a bunch of tossers they all are over in Port Adelaide
There is one reason why Port didn't trade Stevens and that moron of a coach, who should have his name removed from the stands of Jock McHale stadium, was qouted in saying as much. They simply didn't want to make Collingwood a stronger team than what it is. No other reason.
Looking back my feeling is that Stevens and his management knew that Port Adelaide was not going to deal with Collingwood no matter what and therefore put up a smoke screen to suggest to Port that he would go to either Carlton or Melbourne, hoping that in the last day that Port would back down and trade him to Collingwood.
They said they wanted Didak, knowing fully well that he didn't want to go back and that Collingwood were not going to release him.
I bet they have all woken up this morning thinking what a bunch of idiots they must look now in the football world. I don't think I have read one article or heard anyone say that they did the right thing. |

i tell ya, a LOT of people are totally overrating carlton's star 'pickups'. pick 51 for harford & johnson is totally reasonable. harford & johnson spent most of the year in the seconds for HAWTHORN. hawthorn didn't make the finals. hawthorn also have an extremely weak midfield. surprise surprise, harford & johnson are midfielders. if they couldn't make the grade at hawthorn, then they must be really shit.
scoots wanted to be traded to carlton. carlton had barely any picks to throw around. #35 was probably the best we could do.
murphy for mcgrath is a classic win/win.
teague & morrell combined are clearly worth a mckernan. but we're talking about three duds here. can't believe people are talking up teague. obviously they failed to notice his stellar 2003. & if morrell is carlton's messiah, then geezus.
to suggest that there's something underhand going on is peurile. |
